    Wiley Question –

First of all, you can only practice 30 questions at a time. For someone like me, who likes to do all of the questions available in the sections, this royally stinks.

Second of all, there appears to be less functionality than the 2013 test bank. As of right now, I do not see any way to focus on the questions I’ve gotten wrong in the past, or study the ones I haven’t seen yet, or study the questions I’ve seen “x” amount of times. Chatted with one of their reps, and she is going to have one of their engineers look into it. Hopefully they’ll fix this (or at least make it a little more obvious, if it actually is somewhere buried in the site)

Third of all, there is no way to hide the clock. I may be alone in this area, but when I am studying I do not want to see the clock endlessly ticking up and up and up. I have a tendency to say “Oh, I’ve studied for 3 hours, that’s enough for now.” As a result, I always scrolled down so I wouldn’t see the time clock while practicing in the 2013 WTB. Great for the exam study mode, but not so much in the practice mode. The moderator I chatted with said there is no way to hide the clock.

Looks like I’ll be sticking with the 2013 WTB as long as I can, unless they fix at least a few of these things…

I just bought WTB 2014 for FAR and now I am regretting it… 🙁

Sorry to bump old thread, has it gotten better?

FAR - 89 (8/19/14) Wiley TB, Wiley Book, Books from School, Ninja Audio/Notes
AUD - 92 (10/14/14) Wiley TB, Wiley Book, Ninja Audio
BEC - 82 (5/8/15) Mostly Ninja MCQ, sprinkles of Becker lectures and Ninja Audio
    REG - (8/14/15)

Well, it has gotten slightly better. You can now do more than 30 MCQ per session. But here are my 2 main issues:

    1. You cannot exclude past sessions from your progress report, which you can with the old WTB

    2. All of the questions are on one page. For example, if you do 30 MCQ, all 30 MCQ will be on one page. This makes for really long scroll bars if you are taking long sessions. In the old WTB, each question as its own page. I.e. if you are taking 30 MCQ, there would be 30 different tabs.

Also, Wiley Customer Support is ignoring me now. I think they got tired of me sending so many emails about suggestions to improve the new WTB.

Determined, if you choose “exam mode”, each question shows on a different tab, like the real exam. I didn't use that mode though, I like that all the questions are on one continuous page. They need to put back the “seen less than x times” feature, that was useful.

    FAR 75
    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83
    BEC 68, 75

The thing with all of the questions being on one page is that it really slows down your computer, and also, whenever you click on an answer choice, it automatically counts as right or wrong. Whereas if each one was on its own page, you would select an answer choice, and it would not count if it's right or wrong until you click “next.” At least that's how it was with the old WTB.

For the real exam experience in practice mode, you need to click on the toggle button “CPA Exam Mode”, the default is “Study Mode” which gives you the continuous screen.

    FAR 75
    AUD 74, 82
    REG 58, 74, 83
    BEC 68, 75

On my gosh, thank you soooo much! You are so much more helpful than Wiley Customer Support.

Right on with the cpa exam mode but it doesn't give you your % correct. Either that or I'm blind…

Bumping this thread- did anyone ever figure out if you can delete practice sessions that you don't want included in your total score? I have like 7-8 practice sessions that I accidentally started without meaning to and it's dragging down my overall score. Trying to get an overall picture of my performance…

    No, sorry, I haven't.

But if you find that you've started a session that you didn't mean to (or you really wanted a research SIM, but it gave you some long tax form SIM that you don't have time to answer right then), you should be able to refresh/F5 to get out of it without being graded. That's what I've been doing.

Like sometimes it only gives me 9 questions when I asked for 10, and then you can't actually finish the session, so I quickly check to make sure all the problems are there before I start– and I hit F5 if they aren't there, so I can get a complete session going.

There are lots of problems with the REG SIMs in WTB, but overall it is still helpful for passing.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂
