Wiley Question –

First of all, you can only practice 30 questions at a time. For someone like me, who likes to do all of the questions available in the sections, this royally stinks.

Second of all, there appears to be less functionality than the 2013 test bank. As of right now, I do not see any way to focus on the questions I’ve gotten wrong in the past, or study the ones I haven’t seen yet, or study the questions I’ve seen “x” amount of times. Chatted with one of their reps, and she is going to have one of their engineers look into it. Hopefully they’ll fix this (or at least make it a little more obvious, if it actually is somewhere buried in the site)

Third of all, there is no way to hide the clock. I may be alone in this area, but when I am studying I do not want to see the clock endlessly ticking up and up and up. I have a tendency to say “Oh, I’ve studied for 3 hours, that’s enough for now.” As a result, I always scrolled down so I wouldn’t see the time clock while practicing in the 2013 WTB. Great for the exam study mode, but not so much in the practice mode. The moderator I chatted with said there is no way to hide the clock.

Looks like I’ll be sticking with the 2013 WTB as long as I can, unless they fix at least a few of these things…

Why I don't love the new format, I don't hate it either…. Just hope I don't need to use it after this week!

I don't like that when i click it grades it as right or wrong immediately, I like to click then reread then submit…. annoying

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I can't even do any practicing because I don't have any “launch buttons.” So I am extremely irritated right now, but am sure I am going to be just as irritated with it, when I CAN go in and study, as everyone else is. I totally gave up on trying to study during January and February. Unfortunately, I don't get the chance to do many taxes at work, but have all the processing to get done so that the bossman can do the tax returns. Plus all the payroll processing and reports…. Will be starting to study again in March… Good luck to everyone with studying and in taking the exams….

What happened to the Pop Quiz mode??

It doesn't mimic the actual test (where are flags and numbers at the bottom?).

I am not sure if I am going to get used to this…moving vertically as I do the practice questions needs some time for me to get used to.

I am also not happy with the new version. I was using old 2014 version which was far better even with Jav Problems!! I was really hoping that they would update FAR simulation problems. They still have the same old questions. Don't like the idea of just doing 30 questions at a time.

Alright… Found a question in the wrong spot. PLR-0066 should be professional and legal responsibilities but it is a gift tax question. Thank goodness I already know gift tax 😉

I guess the whole benefit of this “new and improved” version of the test bank is that it can be used with an iphone or ipad. I don't know about everyone else, but I can't imagine trying to do my practice sessions off of my iphone (I don't have an ipad). Maybe it would be possible with the audit section, since that is mostly theory, but to do the formulaic questions? No way!

I'd be really curious to know how many people actually do practice questions off of an iphone…

I liked to click my answer and then read it again as I might change my mind (very common scenario that happens in the exam)

I hate it when you click and it immediately grades you – its like what Gleim test bank does and can be annoying.

Why did they have to change the 2014 so much. It really silly when they take a good thing and make it not very user friendly.

Also I like the others I like to do all the question per chapter and not just 30 of them at a time. 🙁

Really glad the old version is still running until June 2014.

I have probably already done 300 questions on my iphone. Do I like it better than doing it on my laptop/desktop? No, but having this capability allows me to do questions whenever I want. I will be traveling the next couple of days (24 hrs of driving..others will be driving) so this version will allow me to study on the road. I'm bringing my laptop but I won't always have a connection and since my test is in 1 week I'll be doing tons of MCQ. Maybe it's not as feasible for say FAR but the computations don't get that difficult in REG. This was definitely a needed feature just wish the rest would have been left as it was before…

I haven't tried out the new test bank yet but I'm disappointed it's not that great based on the comments. I had high hopes for the update too and was looking forward to it.

I've never done more than 30 questions in practice mode, kudos to those of you that do! I need to take a break after 30 or I'd lose concentration When I'm feeling really lazy, I'll only do 20 🙂

🙂 – I need to set those high limits for me as I am the opposite of you Redsoxfan.

If I say ok lets so 200 questions I will focus and do them. If i did 30, then once I am done I go wander off and then its hard to sit my ass back down to study LOL.

True need a break sometimes but that's where I would hit the pause button and it forces me to come back since I know I have this “pending” practice session.

I guess its a psychological thing for me 🙂

Insi, your strategy makes perfect sense. Ideally I'm at the library or Panera Bread when I'm working the questions so wandering off isn't really an option. Maybe I'll try that, I need a new strategy to get out of my never-ending REG slump.

Which reminds me, my REG test bank expired last week, gotta extend it now. REG is costing me a ton of money!

I've upped my MCQ count to 45 (in the old WTB) for FAR because any less and I don't get enough questions on every topic…it takes longer but I rather that than feel like I'm doing better than I really am…not moving to the new version at all
