Hi everyone! I’m studying to take AUD in May. I was using Becker but my laptop decided to die on me this morning… I had installed my software 3 times already so I tried calling Becker to get an extra install with no avail.. Anyway, I was wondering if using Wiley is enough to pass the test? I’m ordering the book plus the notes and the WTB. I’ll be doing the same for BEC. Do you guys think I should supplement with something else? Thanks for your help!!

If you like to build a strong academic foundation, by reading and thoroughly understanding the book, before approaching the test bank than one test bank is enough. If you prefer to do a quick read through the book and learn from the multiple choice question explanations then you should probably have a good amount of supplement questions. That way you can use some questions for learning and others for testing yourself. I used one test bank and a few hours on another test bank for FAR and used two full test banks for AUD. I plan to go over 2 test banks at least twice from here on out.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

WTB worked for me. After trying Bisk for FAR, I scrapped that approach. I only used the WTB to pass all four sections. I would create a practice session with all the questions for a section in it. As I went through them if I got it wrong I would click on the “Link to text” button at the top and go read about the questions I got wrong, instant feedback. I would do that process until I had taken every question in the test bank for that test. Then go start over with questions I missed once, then start over with questions I missed twice, and then three times and so on. I found this to work best for me and I didn't feel like I was wasting time studying things I already know, and I could focus on things I didn't know. I averaged 2000-2500 MCQ's per test after the going through the questions I had missed 3-4 times.

edit. WTB exclusively, no books or videos of any sort. All the Wiley text is in the WTB under the “Link to text”. The only book I ever used was the Bisk book which lead to my failing FAR for my first test. I did buy the Ninja Notes for FAR for my retake which I read through a few times the days leading up to my retake and I would recommend them although I didn't use them on the other three tests.

I used just the Wiley books and test bank (and random supplements like Google, or a bit of NINJA supplies) and passed all 4 on the first try within 5 months…and could've gone faster. But if you go Wiley-only, reading the book cover-to-cover is essential. You can't just use the book to look up weak topics. Some people pass with just WTB but they are the rare exceptions – most people have to read the book word for word.
