In the 4 tests I've taken, NONE of them had the level of insanity that Wiley's MCQs habitually have. Excessive wordiness and length, way too many curveballs, far too much distractor information, constant material that's unlikely to be tested, tons of outdated ones, complete disorganization between what's asked and what was actually in the lesson, and rambling incoherent explanations (seriously why are they always 2-3 paragraph essays?) that will RARELY make you understand the answer.

Whoever writes Wiley's MCQs badly needs to be fired. They are NOT a reflection of the actual exam, not even close. I really regret buying their trash, don't buy it you guys…

I used Wiley & Ninja and I was 4 out of 6. I think lots of MCQs between the two were the same. I personally don't think Wiley is as bad as you described.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 78
    FAR - 81
    REG - 84

I love posts that rip on Wiley. I hated their materials, too. It was pretty much useless for me. A few years back when I used them their explanations for answers sucked ass.
    .
A is the correct answer because x and y and z.
    B is wrong. See A.
    C is wrong. See A.
    D is wrong. See A.
    .
All other materials I used explained why B, C, and D were wrong in detail so I can understand where I went wrong. I always hope they have improved for future candidates.

    “explanations for answers sucked ass”

Don't even get me started, man. On the BEC section, MANY explanations were just repeating the answer, “Answer D is correct because [COPY/PASTE ANSWER D WITHOUT EXPLANATION]” Meanwhile, their REG section explanations were almost always 3 paragraph rambling essays. If it takes you longer than 2-3 sentences to say way one single answer is right or not, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!! -_-

Wiley's test bank questions are only $125 flat price per section which is a pretty good value if you want need fresh questions for MCQ grinding.

OP – I'm with you. Their test bank questions are definitely more detailed than most MCQs but I'm a big believer in that your preparation/training should always be harder than the exam.

Here's my frame of mind while studying with Wiley. Maybe it will help you. My thought process is that I only want to and will take the actual CPA exam, in this case FAR, once and even though I'm doing MCQs/TBSs on their platform, I'm simply studying not taking the actual exam that will be scored by the AICPA. This really helps me to relax when their questions get a little wonky. I'm able to learn the information easily when I approach it that way rather than trying to learn it when I'm pissed off at the questions. Trust me, I used to get pissed especially when I started. It was so bad that I abandoned the testbank questions all together when I took FAR the first time. Needless to say, I got a 66 on FAR the first time. Now I'm ready to slay this FAR dragon! Good luck!!

    FAR-Mar 9,2020 (failed 71), retest May 21

    REG-Passed(10 weeks, 2000 MC)-Wiley

I passed all with Wiley but I hear you. FAR Professor Bain from the forums (not Pam, from the videos) is confrontational dingbat. His responses were short and unprofessional. I would take great care to include just enough detail and clarification and he would respond with a one-liner like “im not sure what you mean.” In other instances, had trouble finding the question I referenced and refused to do any work with Support to find them (I had to do all of the leg work and communication between Wiley staff from different departments). In still more instances, he just blatantly refused to answer my questions, telling me to “read the text.” Infuriatingly condescending. I reported him to Wiley on several occasions, and thankfully someone behind the scenes inevitably compelled him to finally do his job in each instance. He should really just quit Wiley if he's so unhappy.

All of this being backdrop to the fact that yes, some of their questions are out of date. I get that it's difficult to continuously maintain such a large test bank but when you couple that with a “mentoring professor” that has the digital communication skills of a 9-year old, it's very frustrating.

There is no education like adversity.

    BEC – 85 (10/1/18)

    AUD – 91 (12/10/18)

    FAR – 92 (5/13/19)

    REG – 87 (9/9/19)
