    Wiley Question –

I’ve been studying BEC and I think during my study process with REG I’ve realized a more time-efficient way to study. I’m curious on your thoughts.

Instead of going through all the videos (which lose my attention pretty quickly) or studying unnecessary details in the text, I just go straight to the slides (which are the video lecture for the most part), take notes on the slides and then go straight to the MCQs, and take notes on ALL of the MCQs, even if I get them right. So I write down 1-1.5 page of notes for each assignment topic.

What do you guys think about that/how does it relate to your CPAexcel study process you’ve found to be efficient?

    REG- Waiting 7/1/13
    BEC- Waiting 7/23/13
    AUD- Studying 8/12/13
    FAR- Signed up 10/1/13

I thought of doin that because once you get to the lectures in the tax portion of REG they are so long. For my other 2 sections i watched lecture read study text thoroughly and did pqs and mcqs, so i think im just gona stick with it. it seems to work. but ya i feel like your way is more time efficient

    BEC - 84, 4/6/13
    AUD - 77, 5/28/13
    REG - 83, 4/12/14
    FAR - 83, 10/3/13

    Ethics - 90% 4/24/13

I would say it's a far stretch to say the study text contains “unnecessary” details. There are many topics that are in the study text that don't materialize in MCQ's that CPAexcel offers. So in skipping the lecture notes and videos, you are missing a large quantity of potential content on a given test.

I am using cpaexcel and have successfully got through AUD on my first shot, and am awaiting my BEC score.

I watch the videos (though i do space out on occasion) and read through the material, do the PQ's, and then wrap up with the MCQ and make sure i go through anything im unclear on or get wrong. I skip the “diagnostic tests” entirely.

I would say its worth a few minutes here and there to watch the videos, even if you are 100% there. The brain processes information without your knowledge and therefore you will absorb “something” just by hearing it once. Not much, mind you, if you truly are not listening. But something > nothing. You never know if one question will be the difference between 74 and 75…
