    Wiley Question –

I’ve been posting before where I have good trending scores on ninja. I took a legit practice exam for the first time and got a 60! :(. I messed up some minor details in the sims. I’m going to keep plugging away! Only took me about an hour

Has anyone had similar scores and still done well on far?

P.s. Zero NFP and governmental! I’m so good at those lol

    FAR- 5/11/15 76!!
    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!
    REG-7/12/16 72
    BEC-8/31/15 75!! Perfect Score!

I guess it's just the first exam so there is room for improvement. Did you find your practice exam score was not indicative of what your test was like (difficulty-wise)? Or did you just forget about the score and cram more mcq?

I only took practice exams for two of my exams, BEC and AUD. The score was close to representative (within about 7 points). But I think you can miss more and do well on the real exam because the difficulty of the questions varies and there are pretest ones too. Also, especially for FAR SIMS you can have the right answer and still be marked wrong if it is not formatted exactly right in review material, this won't happen on the real exam. Just keep plugging away, don't worry about the practice exams and stay positive.

Thanks dude! Yes I had some formatting errors on my sims. I did two practice exams yesterday to see my weak areas. Jumping into some Ninja MCQ today. I've done like 4000 ninja mcq lol

I personally don't do practice exams. 2 reasons

    1. Get discourage by score

    2. No immediate feedback on answers that you got wrong. I am wasting my time not learning why it is incorrect, just to see where my weak areas are. You should know what areas you struggle with.

Therefore, I will continue to hammer MCQ's in study mode and not waste my time with practice exams.

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

It can be discouraging. I've heard I could get a score like that on the practice exam, but at the same time pass the normal exam because of pretest, weighting, etc. Not that I would back off studying if I did well.

@Tcohle I agree with Golfball that practice exams can be discouraging and they don't have the benefit of giving the answer right away so your better off doing more cumulative 30 MCQ sessions in study mode. However, I think they are beneficial closer to your exam date, say a week out, since you should have all sections covered and your in full review mode so you can time yourself and put yourself in that “test” state of mind. If you rush through it and half-ass it won't work as well. I never did one for FAR and wished I had since I had major test anxiety. I did one yesterday for my Audit exam that I just got out of today and I'm glad I did because I felt more confident and not as nervous. I'd stick with study mode as much as possible and narrow down your weak areas by subsection in NINJA and if you still want then do a practice exam during your review week, just my opinion. 😉

Yeah I'm about 9 days away from the test. Will probably take a few more just to get the test experience feel

I did feel a lot more prepared than the first time. Not to scare you but when I took the re-take I thought I had failed. I felt like it was so much harder than the first test. Thankfully I passed but as you can see not by a huge margin. I know my nerves got the best of me during my second testlet because of level of difficulty and I panicked. This is why it's important to keep good time management.

@TK4L Hmmm so you think just scrap that and do a ton more mcq and sims (ninja)? I have about 9 days until my test

Yes. Tons of MCQs and SIMs. Do “troubled questions” and “missed last time”. I also choose categories to hone in on specific topics. For example, for REG attempt #3, I couldn't stand looking at Ethics/BLaw questions, so I left about 400 on the table. I did Ind Taxation, Entities, and Property Transactions over and over again. Sorry to put tax stuff in your head…good luck with FAR Tcohle and let us know how you did….

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...
