Wiley Question –

I will start the final review phase in a week or so and I thumbed through both Focus Notes and flashcards but they seem kind of random and jumpy from topic to topic. Does anyone have experience using these? If so, what’s the best way to use them? I hate to have paid extra money for them and not even use them!

Also, I have WTB. What are general tips for reviewing? I will have a little under 2 weeks of review time. I took 10 questions from the WTB last night just for the heck of it and got four correct, I think, which is quite discouraging. Does everyone start off this bad then you warm up the questions or do I just suck?

I have both the focus notes and the flash cards and I haven't really used either. I might've browsed through the focus notes for concepts I had been struggling with, but not much else.

As for the WTB, 10 questions is a pretty small sample size, I'd recommend doing more questions to see where you're at. For me though, I usually start off pretty bad with MCQs Probably around 50 – 60 percent correct.

@komatk2 Thanks for your reply! I, too, feel like focus notes and flash cards are nothing special, but since I paid for them I would like to utilize them in one way or another.

I agree that 10 questions is too small to gauge my overall performance, I just wanted to see what they're like, and it was a little disheartening. I guess the only way for me to improve, though, it to do them like crazy!

Essentially my study plan for the review phase is nonstop MCQs (trying to hit a little over 120 a day to complete all of them before exam day) and do most of the TBSs and take notes over things I forgot/need to write down. Is this sufficient?

I'm kind of freaking out so thanks for any tips!

I think the focus notes can be pretty useful for concepts you have a hard time learning. They summarize a lot of the concepts without fluff.

I'd say you have a good strategy. Tons of MCQs has been my strategy for all of the so far exams and hasn't failed me yet. For TBS', in my opinion, you should only do enough to give you an idea of what TBS' are like and how to use the Authoritative literature to answer them. You have no idea what kind will appear on the exam so I think it's a waste to do too many.

And just general advice, try to relax haha. I know it's easier to say than do sometimes, but I think it hinders a lot of people taking these exams. So any hobbies that you have, when you aren't studying keep on doing them! Your mind/brain need a break from studying sometimes.

I have the Wiley highest package, but I don’t utilize everything. I started out doing that, and I think it just was too much. I haven’t touched the flash cards or the focus notes since. For my passing BEC score, I watched all the videos, did the quizzes, and read the textbook. Then I purchased the Ninja MCQ for $47 for just BEC and pounded questions for about 7 days or so before my exam. What works for me might be different for you. Try all the products and just see how they work for you. Good luck!
