CPAExcel – System requirements question

This is for anyone who either has used Wiley CPAExcel or knows more about computers than I do. I have an old laptop with a 2.0 GHz Intel Centrino Duo processor and 2GB of RAM. The CPAExcel website says the system requirements for a Windows machine are: Intel Pentium 4 2.33GHz, AMD Athlon 64 2800+ processor (or faster), 256MB RAM, 775MB free hard disk space, DVD drive.

I know little about computer hardware, but the processor requirements and RAM requirements seem a bit odd (as in why only 256MB of RAM?) Does anyone know if a computer really needs a 2.33GHz processor to run the CPAExcel program? My laptop is old, but it seems to be working fine. I really don’t have the money for both a new laptop and a CPA review course right now and if I don’t have to upgrade the laptop, I really don’t want to.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Not sure, you may have to call them and feel them out on this. Don't know if you were contemplating the whole entire course but they used to offer a free iPad with the purchase of the mac daddy course.

    FAR- 85 I'm DONE!
    BEC- 75
    REG- 60,60,75
    AUD- 74,74,83

CPAExcel used for BEC, AUD, REG
Exam Matrix used for FAR plus NINJA Blitz, cpareviewforfree and a little CPAExcel

Another option: Use the 14 day trial and see if your computer can handle the online version.

The online trial version works fine on my old computer and it doesn't appear to have a lot of lag. I've had no unresponsive episodes either.
