    Wiley Question –

Hi, so I’m just starting out on my journey on completing my CPA exams and I’m leaning most towards CPA Excel currently, especially since they have the B1G1 offer right now.

I plan to do FAR -> AUD early 2012 and I have some questions for those that have used CPAExcel on which option I should purchase.

First question is, if I don’t order the textbook/ebook option, am I able to still print out the SAME material as long as I have the core information?

Second question, how useful is the Professor Mentoring, do you recommend it, etc?

I only read few chapters on the book and seems like it's the same as the core material so you can save your money for that part. I haven't used Professor Mentoring cause to me it's not necessary. Add Wiley test bank and Jeff's note and I think you're good to go. What section are you gonna take first?

Thanks for the reply! I meant 2013*. I haven't taken any, but plan to buy the FAR + AUD and take it in Jan/Feb window. I want to see how CPAExcel is with the promotion they have right now then either continue with CPAExcel or try another review.

Yea I wasn't sure if the book + mentoring would be useful, and if not I rather use the money on something else like Ninja Notes and/or Wiley's Test Bank

From what I understand, you get all the information in the textbooks online as part of the core materials, but I'm sure you can ask them if you want an absolute answer. I used CPAexcel through an integrated review class at my university that included everything, so I'm not 100% sure what each of the options include.

I never used professor mentoring either, but I did take a look at it. It's basically for when you just can't understand why an answer is correct and want a 1-on-1 explanation, but I felt the explanations that it gives you when you pick a wrong answer were sufficient.

    FAR - Feb 2012 - 86
    BEC - Apr 2012 - 85
    AUD - Apr 2012 - 89
    REG - May 2012 - 78
Review: CPAexcel + university review class + NinjaNotes (AUD&REG)

Sorry didn't see the FAR+AUD in your post (I'm at work lol). If you haven't bought it yet, you can try their trial to take a look at their material before spending money. I felt overwhelmed at first because they have 70 something sections for FAR while my friend told me Becker only has 9-10 chapters. But now I like it because their text is not long and I like that I can do practice questions for a specific section right after I finish it. Anyway, good luck with the exam!

I would also say, save the money and get Wiley book. Bc I don't have too much money and have plans to pass the exams, I decided to get the cheapest package self-study + 100off deal they had that time + recent student 20% off. So overall it only cost me a little over 500 dollars for all parts. I also purchased the Wiley book for 30 dollars for FAR part only. Good thing about that review program is that it never expires and the it is regularly updated. I also think that Wiley book would good supplement for BEC part.
