    Hi guys,

This is a question for those of you who have used/are using Wiley CPAExcel: how was the difficulty of their questions compared to the actual CPA exam? I am getting a lot of 65-75%on the practice questions, which isn’t making me feel all that great.

I have used CPA Excel for all parts, except for my retake for AUD, for that I used becker. I found the becker questions in comparison to be a little more trickier, though there are definitely some questions that are used in both courses. 66%-75% can definitely be an alright range but I would try to really pick apart how you're studying and retaining information to see how you can improve the score. My problem for AUD was that I had memorized the questions to the point where I totally disregarded why an answer could be wrong. On my retake I really focused on the explanations for all the answers to make sure I understood the concepts.

I am currently studying for REG, and plan on supplementing the cpaexcel material with Ninja MCQs. I have used Ninja in the past and found the questions to be a little more difficult than CPAexcel, so if you have some time, I would buy Ninja MCQs just to be safe and start drilling.

    FAR - 78*
    AUD - 66, 79
    REG - 73, 76
    BEC - 79

I'll echo the above. I found Cpaexcel's MCQs too easy. I doubt I would have passed if I hadn't supplemented with the Ninja MCQs. They're a must have IMO.

    FAR 8/18/2014--87
    AUD 10/18/2014--78
    REG 11/24/2014--76
    BEC 2/28/2015--76

I was trending around 70 for FAR using only CPAExcel and was able to pass. When I left the exam I definitely didn't feel like i didn't have a clue what just happened. I used it for BEC as well, but honestly i had just finished my MBA this pass summer so that in its self was most of what i considered my preparation. I'm using it for AUD as well and we'll see how it goes.

    FAR 10/24/15 - 87
    BEC 11/30/15 - 88
    AUD 01/10/16 - 88
    REG 02/27/16 - 77

I used only CPAExcel for all 4 and thought it was just enough. I felt more confident with AUD and REG. BEC needed supplemental material on anything IS or IT. The FAR simulated MCQs were just annoying…vague and out from left field. The SIMS were decent.

    BEC - 75 (06/12/15)
    AUD - 84 (08/04/15)
    REG - 82 (08/25/15)
    FAR - 76 (11/04/15)

I would agree that CPA Excel gives you enough to pass as far as MCQs go (not alone of course). I saw some questions that were word for word on the exams…not a lot but a couple for sure.

    FAR - Passed (82)
    BEC - Passed (76)
    AUD - Passed (89)
    REG - Passed! (81)

My best final practice exam score was always within 5 points of my actual score when using CPAExcel, if that means anything.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

I only used the Wiley/CPA Excel questions the one time going through the material. I hammered NINJA MCQ's the week prior to my exam and never looked back at the Wiley material. To me, it was a good foundation and hit on everything once, but the NINJA MCQs really helped drill down on what I needed help on. Trending was an 81%, actual 84.

    BEC - 84
    FAR - 82
    AUD - 86

@kingpasty nailed it. That is the best approach if using CPA Excel, or even add in NINJA MCQ a little sooner.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

I used cpa excel exclusively throughout my study for all four parts. I was trending upper 80's low 90's on my final practice exams. Actual CPA exam scores came in on average 7-8 points lower. BEC was much much lower though. Scored 76 on an actual exam but was trending 91 on my final practice. Thus the last section for me was somewhat of a crapshoot.

    REG - 82 05/26/15
    FAR - 80 07/01/15
    AUD - 82 08/31/15
    BEC - .. 10/26/15

Actual exam questions are more tricky than the test bank software questions. No matter what you use (NinjaMCQ, Roger, Becker etc.)

Understanding the concept is more important. IMO
