    Wiley Question –

I just stared FAR yesterday and it seems that i’d be spending too much time reading then watching the lectures then doing the MCQ. If anyone has passed with CPA Excel how did you do it? What other materials did you use to supplement with?

I used CPAexcel and passed all four parts on my first attempt. I also used Ninja MCQs for BEC and FAR, and don't think I would have passed those on my first try otherwise. I suggest skipping the CPAexcel lectures. I only watched them for AUD (my first exam), and then realized it was a waste of my time since I pretty much zoned out during them. There is way too much material to cover, especially with FAR, that you have to cut corners somewhere. So my basic plan was to read each lesson and then do the MCQs and SIMS that went with it. Then during the last two weeks or so leading up to the exam, I would focus on the Wiley test bank and/or Ninja MCQs. I would take notes on MCQs that I didn't know or had problems with, and I'd review those notes periodically leading up to the exam. Doing thousands and thousands of MCQs was really the key for me, as it was the best way I found that I learned the material. Best of luck to you!

MCQs seem to be helping me retain the information. I passed REG using straight NINJA – took notes on the book, listened to the audio constantly, and hammered out questions. I find that for FAR that approach wasn't working very well for me so I had to switch it up. Granted, I'm super behind where I need to be for next month, but I'm trying my hardest to get it all done. (I'm behind because I'm a slacker and not investing the time I need…)

I'm trying to incorporate my Wiley into things, but I just don't dig the Wiley setup. NINJA seems to be on-point for me.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

Whatever you do, don't pay attention to the exam planner. The estimated study time for each module is completely inaccurate. I believe it is only the amount of time it takes to go through the multiple choice questions and simulations. Does not include the time it takes to read the lesson and watch the video.

I would suggest what others would do depending on how you learn. Im better from the book, but I ewould say that if you are having trouble with any section, maybe than peek at the lecture or the deep dives if there are any. They do say the online is most up to date so I would check if there are an lessons in one but not the other.
