Just received my AUD Wiley Text book and with my exam approaching on Feb. 25th, I doubt I will be able to get through it all. Does anyone have any advice as to the most important chapters to focus on?

Also, anyone have any advice as to the best way to use this textbook as an effiicient study tool? The book seems extremely wordy and hard to follow.

    Thank you!

Need to study all chapters. The best way to use Wiley books is to stop reading the text when the page marker tells you to work multiple choice questions…work the questions, then pick-up reading again. I'm pressed for time with FAR so I'm only doing the odd-numbered MC questions. Be sure to work every simulation. The sims in the book are way better than test bank sims.

I'd agree that all the chapters are important, but some more so than others. If you're short on time, focus more on the Audit Evidence, Internal Control and Audit Reporting sections over, say, auditing IT. While the chapter is still important, your time is better served crushing the more heavily tested sections. Focus on the big boys, supplement the lighter sections with NINJA notes and work MCQs to no end.

Personally, I'd rather read the whole book than do more MCQs. If you buckle down and read, you can get a once-through in about 25-30 hours. It won't be a fun 25-30 hours, but it can be done! That would be my recommendation. But obviously, there's personal preference involved, since people like davem would say you're better to break up the reading with MCQs! Just find what works best for you. 🙂

Thank you all for the advice. I am not really short on time, but I also do not have 25-30 hours to read due to it being busy season and all. I learn well when I read, however, the Wiley book is too wordy and overwhelming to sit down and read. I like the idea of hitting the heavily tested sections.

For the last couple weeks I have been listening to NINJA audio and reading NINJA notes as often as possible, so I feel i have a good grip on the basics. Being an auditor for over a year helps with that as well.
