I have the testbank for all 4 sections, same with Becker. currently I have about 15 full days until I test. I am doing about a chapter every 2 days. Watching lecture & reading on day 1, MCQ’s on day 2. Im starting 3 tomorrow.

My question is, should I use Wiley Test Bank as supplementary material to Becker for the AUD section, or should I not really waste time on that, and work on focusing on the details in Beckers book/MCQ/SIMS?

I haven't used Becker so I can't really compare. I can say that I used Yaeger & the Wiley Test Bank and I felt very well prepared for the MCQs. I actually saw 3 that were almost the exact same questions I'd had on the Wiley Test Bank. Good Luck!!!

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 83
    FAR - 87
    REG - 65, 77 5/28/13

I would use a little bit of both. I passed Audit the second go around after adding the Wiley test bank and Ninja Materials. I think they have a little bit different style questions ~ mixes it up a bit. Good luck!

    REG 72, 86 and DONE!!!
    BEC 80 🙂
    FAR 72, 78 🙂
    AUD 73, 76 🙂

I did the Becker questions at the end of each section in the book then I mainly used the Wiley test bank after that. I think having both helped me see different types of questions. I guess I'll see how it all worked out on 08/22 when I receive my score for AUD.

15 days is enough to do both. If I had to pick one though, I would say that the test was more like the questions in Becker than Wiley. Wiley has a lot more unnecessary questions. But doing Wiley helps you see questions that are asked differently and it makes you think on how to apply the rules.

I wouldn't waste time on Wiley and just do Becker. I just took AUD less than a month ago. I kid you not, most of the MCQs were almost identical to Becker… about 5 in each testlet were exactly the same. I did all questions in PassMaster at least twice and passed with 88. Good luck!

I haven't used Wiley so I don't want to say it's a “waste of time” but I think you'd definitely be well prepared with Becker alone. I only went through the homework once and even then I only got through A1-A3 and part of A4 because I ran out of time. I thought the homework questions were very similar to what I saw on the exam if not the same. Stick to your schedule, get through the material, and do a little review and you should be golden. I've frequently read that Becker for AUD is the best. If you don't have time for Wiley I wouldn't stress too much. 🙂

    FAR 7/5/12 83
    AUD 7/20/12 86
    BEC 8/6/12 74; retake 11/20/12 76
    REG 11/5/12 74; retake 1/3/13 77! DONE! 🙂

@dualmatrix – Thank you, If I have any time, I will do some wiley questions here and there. Good luck on REG 🙂

@G35 – I have heard from numerous friends that Becker & the exam are so identical. I'm hoping for that, but I am not memorizing the questions, I'm taking my time to understand the subject matter. Audit isn't too bad.. but I heard A4 is a beast. I will see tomorrow.

@GoodByeSummer – You went through the homework just once?! WOW! How did you do so well!!!! I'm planning on doing all the audit questions at least 2-3 times, and re-reading the book and really focusing on 3 & 4.

What do you recommend on doing to prepare for the SIMs?

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

Most review companies get their questions from the same source:

@futuremdcpa That's true, I've heard that as well. If you do well on the MCQ, they're going to be a breeze on the exam. I felt I was flying through them when I was taking it. I would also recommend focusing on the SIMS. They were far more difficult than Becker. They really go into nitty-gritty details.

Thank you 🙂 I did buy the SIM's from CPAReviewforfree, I'd rather pay the $10 then the fee to retake this damn exam. I'm going to really focus on 3-4 but study everything all over again. So far its not so bad, just a lot of details, that when they are broken down – they are very understandable. Good luck on FAR 🙂

I honestly couldn't tell you how I got my score lol. Because I couldn't finish the material I thought for sure I'd fail. I walked out thinking IF I pass it'll be close. Just goes to show you never really know lol. I knew A3 and A4 were important so I focused on those. There were a good amount of questions I had to guess on but I reasoned my way through them as best I could. I've read that a lot of people fly through audit with a ton of time to spare. I had to use every minute of the four hours I had because there was so much I didn't know and had to think about. It sounds like you're going in really prepared and you should be able to get through it quickly but no matter what make sure you leave a good chunk of time for sims. There were so many points where I wanted to just give up and leave because I was frustrated. But I told myself to give it my all because if I do I could end up with that passing score. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just don't give up no matter how frustrated you get but from the looks of it, you won't be in nearly as much despair as I was on exam day haha

As far as sims go I only did them for A1 in Becker but not the rest because I was short on time. I though re-reading the chapter worked well for me because it helped me pick up details I might find useful on the sims. Mine weren't all that bad but there were a couple that were brutal. I'm sorry I don't have any advice for sims specifically but I think practicing the ones you have is a great idea. Even if they're easier than what you'll get on the exam I think they can only help. I think I left about 1 hour and 45 min for mine and I used the AL a lot!

    FAR 7/5/12 83
    AUD 7/20/12 86
    BEC 8/6/12 74; retake 11/20/12 76
    REG 11/5/12 74; retake 1/3/13 77! DONE! 🙂
