I am planning to go for Yaeger material which comes with Wiley books. I just wanted to know from those who have used Wiley or Yaeger that- are Wiley books difficult to comprehend by self study.

Please help me in deciding by sharing your experience.

I used only the Wiley books to get the first understanding off all the issues, and I found it helpful. I later supplemented with Wiley test bank and Ninja notes. There are usually examples on the more complex issues, and they tend to start from the beginning.

    BEC - 81 (Nov 2011)
    FAR - 87 (May 2012)(Skipped 1st window)
    AUD - 80 (Aug 2012)
    REG - 81 (Nov 2012)

I will say that it depends on the way you learn. I hate lectures and found that the Wiley books were perfect for me. They can go into too much detail on some topics. I am supplementing CPAexcel with Wiley and use them to cover topics that I have trouble understanding or were I think CPAExcel doesnt cover well enough.

I used the Wiley books exclusively. They are more than adequate to prep for the exam. However, if I had to do it over I would also use the test bank. Practice MCQ were the key to my success.

    FAR - 79 - 07/2012
    AUD - 65, 78 - 11/2012
    BEC - 76 - 11/2012
    REG - 78 - 01/2013
    ETH - 98 - 01/2013

    Material: Wiley books

Actually, I found many topics to be easier to understand in the Wiley books than in the Becker notes, mainly because in the Wiley book there are more detailed explanations, where as in Becker it's all kind of a summary. But most people say that a lot of this detail is not needed on the exam.

I only use Wiley books, and I supplemented it with Wiley focus notes and test bank. I can say that it works perfectly for me. I have passed the 3 sections on the first try with just the book as my primary base of learning. I was considering Becker before, but they are too expensive for me. So for my last exam, hopefully, I'm using the same materials no more no less. BTW, my scores were 93,92,96 for AUD, FAR, REG respectively.

    DONE!!!

I just use Wiley books and testbank. I have felt prepared for all 3 exams I've taken. It is a little dry but all it requires is focus. Hoping the Wiley method helps me go 3 for 3 – looking for my REG score later today.

    BEC - 5/2012 - 91
    AUD - 8/2012 - 89
    REG - 1/2013 - 90
    FAR - 5/2013 - 88
