2011 Wiley REG textbook with Online Wiley testbank

    Hey all,

I bought the online Wiley testbank for the REG section and wondering if it’s wise to continue using the 2011 Wiley textbook rather than the 2012 version.

I think the REG section don’t require you to memorize the dollar amounts (or do they?) so I plan on studying the concepts in the 2011 textbook and use the online testbank for m/c review.

    What do you think? Thanks.

You will be fine. I used Wiley 2011 as well and did not have any questions where I needed to know specific dollar amounts.Make sure you check out mid-year updates though (got mine from Yaeger, but I would assume Wiley would provide updates to the book on their site)

For $87, you don't have to worry about it. There were some changes for 2012.

Startup costs for small businesses is one right off the top of my head.

Jeff, if we bought the 2011 test bank, you mentioned a way to update to 2012 free of charge. How do we do that?

    FAR - 79 (2x)
    AUD - 81 (expired), 77!
    REG - 74! omg (3x) 87!!!!!!! I'm done! OMG!
    BEC - 81 (4x)

@Veronica75 I think that only applies for the “Online” testbank and not the CD/desktop testbank.

@R. Baker Where do you find the updates to the 2011 textbook? Wiley website did not post anything. IMHO I'm not impressed at all with Yaeger milking their customers for online updates. :/

I don't think there was any offer to extend an online subscription license end dates for free — other than a few folks who had 2011 pins that could not be activated on the 2012 system or some issues with the “pin clock” (pins expiring earlier than the 1 year or 4-month subscription terms) and we worked with Jeff to fix those.

Sorry Veronica – I missed your post.

Wiley is correct…there were some timing issues with the 2011 pins (the “clock” started running when I bought them – not when the candidate registered the product). On a case by case basis, Wiley is working with me to make things right with customers who run into this and didn't get their full year.

A straight up update from an expired 2011 to 2012 would require buying another pin.

Perhaps you were referring to the 2011 online test bank automatically transitioning to 2012 assuming your subscription was still live?

Yes, Jeff. I got a 2011 pin at the very end of 2011. I was able to contact Wiley customer service and they provided an updated pin so I can access 2012. There was an issue with my transition to 2012. Once I called, it seemed to be an easy fix! Thanks!
