    Hi everyone,

I had originally started studying for the CPA exam back in Aug 2019, and took it in November 2019. I honestly did not study as much as I should have and I ended up getting the flu the week I took the exam. I ended up getting a 40 on it, and felt discouraged after that. And all I used was UWorld Roger CPA Review. Then COVID hit and it just discouraged me more, this past month I decided I wanted to try again, because I am determined to pass all 4 sections. I decided I was going to supplement with Ninja as well, for this time around. I have more motivation to take it and pass it this time, then I did last time around.

So my question for you guys is, for those that have supplemented Roger with Ninja, how did you do it? Especially for the Nail the Concepts part, do I just read the book and not look at the videos or do I do both. That is the part that is getting me a bit confused. I am planning on using the ELL plan from Ninja, and also I will start studying the first week of March, because I am going to take the exam May 8.

Thanks for your help in advance!

I have Roger and used ninja as a supplement for Audit. My advice is get through the material fast and then do non-stop MCQ, and then review the previous chapters every day. I did all the multiple choice with Roger and used the ninja notes to review. I think I would have scored higher if I didn't take so much time getting through the material.

For FAR and AUDIT so far, I did all the simulations and MCQ's for both Roger and NINJA. I used all ROGER lectures and then NINJA notes for review close to test time. It was a lot but I hope it made the difference. I feel liKe NINJA and ROGER materials compliment each other well. Waiting on a score for AUDIT tomorrow.

Choose either the book or the lectures, whichever best suits your learning style. I would not do both as that would be too time-consuming. If you are following the ELL plan, I also wouldn't study for more than 7-8 weeks.2 weeks reading or watching lectures, 3-4 weeks on MCQs/Sims, 1 week re-writing ninja notes and your own notes(highly recommend), and the final week reviewing your week areas. If you download the framework it is all in there and has helped me a lot on my first 2 exams.

Did you do both the Roger Lectures and read the book? And how long did you initially take to study everything?

I definitely get it, I just want to give myself an extra week or two because that was the only time I could schedule in May and my NTS expires May 11. And I didn’t want to schedule earlier in April in case I don’t get enough time to study.

I'm using Roger. I have used Ninja in the past. It's not a bad choice of supplement. I wanted to get full use of the product and it clashed with Roger where I was trying to absorb too much materials. the MCQ's and the Notes are great. I re-write the notes for when I am behind in study or can't get the chapter done. Overall, supplementing was too much for me. Roger's course comes with a lot. But if you can fit it in and not get bogged down with trying to use everything, I think it's a good choice.
