Hi everyone!
I just graduated with my BS in Accounting back in May 2013 with 150 credits.
My plan is to pursue my CPA this year but I’m not sure which CPA review program to purchase. Everybody raves about the Becker review but it is quite pricey.
What are your experiences with the UWorld Roger CPA Review? Does anyone have a discount code?
I already all of the WIley 2014 study materials with the exception of the test bank which I plan on purchasing through Jeff.Any inputs would be highly appreciated! 🙂
Thank you in advance!

Jeff usually has discount codes for all the review programs – could try emailing him: jeff@another71.com
I used just Wiley (books and test bank) because I learn best by reading, but if I'd purchased a lecture-based program, I would have gone with Roger, cause I liked his lectures best of all of them. There's people on here who would swear by him and people who would swear by all the other programs…but at the end of the day, the only one that is cost effective for *you* is the one that *you* learn from. So, watch the samples, and pick the one that you like best. Roger is a solid choice, but so are the others. 🙂

How did you study Lilla? I work 9-6 on weekdays and since I am in NYC, my commute is roughly 2 hours to work and 2 hours back.. it leaves me only a couple hours a day to study.
Congrats on your CPA!

I am not sure which, but hopefully phasing out because right now Roger's test bank is pretty much ONLY the problems already in his book which means not a lot of MCQs to practice. I ordered the program before he changed to his new online Roger test bank – which is nice by the way, just not enough MCQs.

I thought roger includes the Wiley test bank but not anymore. I was told this when I emailed to ask.
Hello Kelly,
Previous Roger CPA Review Courses have included both the Wiley textbooks and test bank access, but these items are no longer included in the course as a result of our 2014 redesign aimed at providing a more streamlined, integrated course option to our students. Students who purchase our course today would receive the following items with their order:
1. 18 months of access to the Roger CPA Review online lectures.
2. A hard copy and digital copy of the Roger CPA Review textbook for each section purchased. This textbook is comprehensive, and includes chapters matching the lectures, class questions, and homework questions for additional study.
3. Access to the newly-released Roger CPA Review Interactive Practice Questions. This is a new product, which grants students access to thousands of multiple choice and simulation questions in an online format. Unlike the Wiley test bank, these practice questions have been reviewed by Roger to ensure appropriate content, and are organized by subject to mirror the Roger textbook and lectures. Access is granted for the length of your course access.
Students purchasing the full course will also receive access to the 2014 Study Planners and the CPA moderated Homework Help Center message board. The study planners assist students in planning their studies, and provide a day-by-day study schedule. The Homework Help Center is an online message board where students can post questions for the community or for our moderators. These moderators are licensed CPAs, and can address any exam or content-based questions.
With the code that Jeff kindly provided, I can spend the money I saved on the test bank on this site and ninja notes.
Hopefully this will be sufficient to pass! 🙂
January 12, 2014 at 6:43 am #577389AnonymousInactiveI purchased Roger 2013 and now 2014 version is introduced a few weeks ago.
I no longer see the link to the Wiley TB on his website (after loggingin). It was replaced with a link to his own testbank which is newly created this year. I still have access to Wiley TB for all 4 parts but I will see which one I like after taking FAR…
His lecture is funny, interesting and energetic. It keeps you focused and awake for sure 🙂
Textbook is good. Definitely better than reading those tiny letters on Wiley book. Roger's textbook uses heavier, and whiter paper. No magnifying glass is necessary.
Like he promised, all the fat is removed so it's lean and no excess, to the point… his lecture alone does not cover all the topic covered in the exam, you have to sort of pick them up while doing the MC.
I hope that helps 🙂
January 12, 2014 at 8:16 am #577391AnonymousInactive@ Kelly Here my experience with Roger:
I purchased Roger for FAR on November, my comment is that I LOVE roger lectures and system, he really makes the things easier and understandable. I purchased this material BEFORE all the changes he implemented for 2014 and these, as per my understanding are much better than before. Here is the issue:
Before, Roger taught all his lectures according to his own book, and gave homework that relied on Wiley. In this sense you studied his sytem but at the time of doing the homework, you found out that many topics were not covered by Roger book (and lecturers), because these were covered of course in Wiley books.
This was an issue in my study time because I lost around 2 weeks in understand the system. All that Roger people tells is he is teaching the big rocks (to pass the exam) and Wiley supplement the material. I'm trusting in that for FAR, I'm studying hard Roger material and in my review (2 weeks) I will be doing Wiley MCQ and journal analysis. I'm not basing my study on Wiley big bibles books, that is just not for me, I wouldn't finish in this life time.
NOW the changes are better for 2014 because, as far as I know ((I will know for sure in Feb when I get AUD material) you have no more Wiley reference, but his own MCQ in his system, so he is referring to his own book and this makes easier to understand and relate the topics to his material.
So, above all, I like this review, I'm doing my best to pass FAR.
Hope this helps

I will be doing the extra practice as I know concepts are hard for me to understand therefore I need the extra practice..I hope this works out!!February 8, 2014 at 1:20 am #577394ricepersonParticipant@kelly. I'm using Roger right now for Reg. First go around for FAR the only complaint I had with Roger is he didn't go over one topic that was tested heavily the two times I took FAR. But that's part of the bargain. Roger's FAR section was really good as the Wiley book was extremely difficult to study from. With the supplement of the test bank he gave as well (in 2013) the course was pretty good. I did have problems like others with the material being out of order and such, but in those situations I went to the MCQs in the book rather than the test bank.
As of right now, his REG section is pretty good, no complaints so far, but I am preferring the Wiley Test Bank to Roger's test bank. If you get both Roger's classes and the Wiley test bank, I suggest you do all his class questions, his new study questions first; then move on to the Wiley Test Bank.

February 8, 2014 at 4:00 am #577396AnonymousInactiveI see this thread being bumped up so I am rewriting my review.
His interactive test bank is running waaaaaay much better than when first introduced.
It gives you a feedback after each question how you have been doing so far, instead of giving the feedback at the end of the MCQ session.
I still have WTB, so I am not sure if you find Roger's TB too easy, you can always add WTB.
February 8, 2014 at 5:40 am #577397KenadaMemberI have used Rogers for AUD/BEC and REG not yet for FAR.
BEC and AUD – he did a great job, it was easy to listen to his lectures and then I would go to the Wiley book to do the questions on the chapter.
As another poster mentioned his lectures are not to be used alone to pass the exam. His lectures provide you to the tools/knowledge about the topic. The Wiley book builds your foundation and helps you gain a better understand by doing the Questions. The Wiley test bank becomes the final enforcer to practice and build on your strengthens before you sit the exam.
I have not yet tired the new Rogers Test bank – as I sat Reg a few weeks back. I will see how it works out for FAR. I do have the WTB for FAR anyway so I am going to use it the same way I did for the other exams.

I am done!!May 31, 2014 at 6:23 pm #577398Galina-VirginiaMemberCould anybody please share with the most recent experience using the updated/new version of 2014 Roger review course? How much of the 2014 Wiley vs. the new Roger should be added in terms of supplement?
Thank you in advance!
June 22, 2014 at 5:18 am #577399thederekParticipantI am using roger for AUD. I bought the 4 Wiley books off amazon and was having trouble with those alone. It seemed even after reading the chapter I was doing horribly on the MCQ. Rogers goal seems to concentrate on the “why” more than the “what”. Is there less information than Wiley? Yes. However if you are actually understanding the material you will still be able to deduce the correct answer in most cases. I watch the roger videos at home and read the kindle version of Wiley books on the go. (Because tables don't format right you still need the hard copy Wiley books to supplement the kindle version). I think most programs get their MCQ from AICPA released questions anyway – I've noticed a lot of overlap with the MCQ between roger and Wiley. I haven't taken the exam yet but I think roger has enough info to pass. If you're aiming for a 95+, you will probably need Wiley to supplement. If you have the time and money I'd do the full course with roger and buy the Wiley books separate.honestly I can't figure out what could possibly be tested in the area of audit that isn't covered between the two.
