    Hi all,

Just started UWorld Roger CPA Review and now I’m worried. I just got an email saying, hey we’ve done a reorganization of all the materials for 2014 and new roger books… I just paid for my class a week ago and my materials didn’t even ship until TODAY! but now I am worried I don’t have the newest materials from roger and I know it shouldn’t matter, but it bothers me because I spent so much money on it. Does anyone know if perhaps I will be getting the updated/new materials in the mail?

Starting AUDIT… this is just the beginning

No, I was able to access the lectures immediately, but I really like books. I can't follow along as well online. And I want to be able to access Wiley before two weeks into my year (I assume the shipment won't get here until next week).

So if they don't send me the newest books I'm definitely going to be shelling out good money to print and bind the PDFs… Probably cost me 100$ for the set. But cheaper than 240$

    I should have waited

So, out of curiousity, what's your study plan? The order in which you are taking the exams and how much time you plan to spend on studying for each?

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)

I saw your other post ….240 hrs on AUD for your friend?? Wow. I think I spent maybe 60-80 hrs. I stopped counting for my last exam. Loved the Roger lectures!!! Total time spent studying for all parts – about 450 hrs including 100 hrs of lectures.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)

I am going in for Audit first and then either schedule Reg or Far in the following test window and probably leave BEC for last. I wanted to start with Far originally but so many people said go for an easier one first and I work in government auditing so I figured it would be interesting to learn about that one. I just started working here 8 weeks ago. Was just a staff accountant for a small family company before (no CPA pressure there).

I don't want to spend too much time rethinking doing Audit first.

I don't even have an NTS yet and I just sent my transcripts 2 weeks ago so right now for audit I am just trying to process all the video until my books/materials show up (hopefully tomorrow) and then I can blast some MCQs.

I probably won't be able to sit for it until early April because of waiting for my NTS. But since it's my first ever test I want to figure out how to be prepared and give myself more time even if I have to re-memorize a lot since I am starting months early. Just trying to get back in the habit of studying. Everyday. At least two hours… Trying to get up to 3 hours per day.

Well, if you haven't started yet, I strongly suggest starting with FAR. I don't know why a lot of people say AUD is the easiest one…. You are expected to know and understand GAAP when you do a financial audit, so this knowledge is helpful when you are taking AUD….

So, if it is not too late, and it sounds like you have plenty of time still, I'd concentrate on FAR first, then do AUD, then REG and leave BEC for last since you'll feel burnt out and BEC requires the least amount of study hours…. Of course, it's just my suggestion…..you can stick with AUD first if you want but I felt it was my obligation to warn you 😉

    Good luck!

Okay Tough Kitty. I'm starting to change my mind. I was 30% into the Roger Audit videos… but since I haven't scheduled any tests maybe I should go with my first inclination to start with FAR until I pass … but if I get my NTS and I schedule 2 exams- FAR (first) and say AUD, then if I fail FAR what would I do about my AUD test? Not sit it and forgo the fees? I'm saying if I wanted to focus on FAR until I pass.

You don't need FAR to pass AUD…just take whatever you've paid for.
