Those that have passed FAR using UWorld Roger CPA Review, what was your strategy with the materials. Previously I have gone through all of Wiley CPAexcel and all of Ninja CPA Review twice and still keep getting in the low 70’s. Now, my first time with Roger CPA, I am watching the videos, then reading the chapter, then doing the smartpath till I hit the goal and moving on (as a side note I take a small amount of notes on the content I feel is useful for the questions section). While I am enjoying the lectures and the content at least feels somewhat helpful, I feel like I should be doing more (Wiley and Ninja were more aggressive in my opinion). I need to pass this time and I feel like I am missing something.

Make sure you understand the topics. Don't just go through and answer the questions. Low 70's means you are close but just missing some topics. Are you working some SIMs? They really helped me bring the topics together. Roger tries to teach you the topics and make you understand them.

I started with FAR, At the beginning I was doing what you are doing, but I found reading the textbook to be ineffective.
To put it bluntly, I would read and not retain anything, so I focused on doing the videos and then the MCQs.
I did all the Roger MCQs, and then went on to the Gleim test bank and did more MCQs.
I never found much use in doing the MCQs more than once, as you already saw the correct answer.
The smartpath was introduced while I was still going through the program. I was lacking in many areas according to the smartpath calculations and completely disregarded them.
I did 100% of the MCQs in Roger, but also did extra in Gleim. I found that the questions seem to repeat between the courses, most likely because they all use previously released AICPA questions.
My suggestion, make sure you do cumulative quizzes at least once a week to keep topics fresh in your mind. If you do all the Roger questions, hit up another test bank with better analytics.
I am not sure about the Ninja analytics, but the Gleim TB has an excellent breakdown by chapter, and then by topic within the chapter, so you can very easily see your weak areas and then use MCQ quizzes or even study mode to hammer away on those specific weak areas. If this is your third retake I would target at least 3000-4000 MCQs.

I agree. I didn't read the books unless it was something I was really struggling on. I worked my weaker areas like Governmental and equity a bunch and made sure to do cumulative quizzes several times a week. I tried to do 90 questions a day on average during the week and finished up with close to 3500 MCQs by the time I sat. Like Rogers says, if you study, you will pass.

I would do the lecture video, then the reading (which mostly didn't help, but there were a few times a minor detail in there helped, especially for REG), then I did a quiz with at least 30 MC and 3 SIMS to make sure I understood it, if I did good then I moved onto the next section, otherwise I kept reviewing it and took another test until I felt comfortable. Did that all the way through, then finished the material with a couple weeks left, and from there just did practice quiz after practice quiz.

I passed my first attempt using only Rogers and everyone says I am an idiot, even my mother. I would watch his lectures more than once if needed but did not read the book, my mom says I do not read good… I did literally chop up the book by chapters to make it easy to reference while doing multiple choice. Made my own study guides from his book instead of reading it. I did 1000s of multiple choice and barely any Sims but when I took my exam I regretted not doing more Sims. I could have swore some sims on my exam were very close to what I blew off in Rogers. Put in the time and Rogers will be enough. Something else that I wish I had done is request pencil and paper from nasba. My mom says I don't use dry erase boards good….

I'm using Roger currently and been taking a slightly different approach. This is my first section, so I guess time will tell how effective it is!
    1) Watch the Lecture with no, or very few stops. Jot down a few notes here and there.
    2) Read the text and take detailed notes (Mainly expanding upon the items that seemed important from the video)
    3) Do a few MCQ's from the section I just did (i.e. Maybe 2.05, 2.06, etc.)
    4) Then, once I get to the end of a main section (i.e. Section 2) – I'll go back and do MCQs from all the individual sections in that chapter until I hit the SmartPath targets.
    5) Rinse and Repeat for 30+ chapters.

Maybe more time consuming than skipping the book like others have said, but I've found rewriting the important parts in my own words has been helping a lot with memorizing.
Regardless of what you choose, practice is key. The more you're around it, the easier it'll be to become second nature.
