I love UWorld Roger CPA Review and have successfully passed 3 parts of the exam on my first try…I have no complaints on his teaching style and I am glad I chose rogers..

However, his mannerisms are extremely annoying to me for some reason. Like the way he snorts, drinks from a straw and swallows his saliva. Is it just me or does anybody else feel this way. Maybe its because ive been watching him for hours and eventually everybody’s mannerism gets to you after that much time. Idk

to be fair, i highlighted, underlined and circled alot from one of the review course and i didnt recall anything i have learnt . But for roger, i have a clear picture of what is going on and fill in the gap by doing MCQ.

    REG - 80 (02/13/2015) Roger + Ninja Flash Card + Ninja MCQ + Becker's Note
FAR - 84 (05/29/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Some Wiley book questions
BEC - 77 (08/27/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Half Wiley book questions
AUD - 87 (08/28/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Half Wiley book questions

I've used both Becker and Roger CPA.

Roger CPA is the best for actually trying to understand the concepts (via videos and textbook). However, I didn't like his homework questions. As a result, I used the following to pass each section.

Watched Roger CPA for lecture videos.

    – BEC: Becker Questions

    – REG: Becker Questions and Roger Textbook for SIMS

    – FAR: Becker Questions and Roger Textbook for SIMS

    – AUD: Didn't pass AUD with Becker the first time. Switched to CPAExcel Wiley Studyguide.

    FAR - 86
    REG - 85
    BEC - 90
    AUD - 84

Roger is very good, he keeps you interested in the material. All those mannerisms are just for show and getting you back to paying attention. I feel his Audit section is phenomenal so far, I didn't understand my college audit professor at all and now I feel like I finally understand what is going on in the topic. I'd say he was good for FAR and BEC as well. One thing with Roger is that you must study and do alot of MCQ after the videos because he does not cover every minor detail in the lecture, its pretty much he gives you a base understanding (and a good one) and lets you learn the minor details on your own.

Roger's energy is what made me purchase his course. I knew that it was going to keep me up at night while watching the most exciting information on the planet!! His mannerisms and his adult sense of humor make me chuckle just about every night. Supplement with NINJA MCQ and audio and you will be all set. I'm 2 for 2 with those materials.

Here is my story. I used Gleim exclusively for Audit and BEC. I was able to pass with an 87 average. However, it was hard to motivate myself to study and I had lots of background in audit and BEC is fairly general knowledge. I supplemented Rogers with Gleim for REG and I sit for the exam this afternoon. I will let you know how it goes. One HUGE positive of using Rogers is it allowed me to move through the material WAY more quickly than just using Gleim. This is due to the awesomeness of Rogers; he is the best teacher I have ever seen. He sets the table and allows you to learn the basics extremely well. That being said, there is no way anyone could pass using the Rogers questions alone. They are very easy and not comprehensive at all. You would fail for sure using his questions alone. My understanding is that he used to include the Wiley Test Bank and now has transitioned to only using his own questions. You could go through all his questions in literally two days. The Gleim database covers the bases well. Finally, I have also supplemented with the new Ninja multiple choice questions. They are awesome and well worth the investment. Bottom line is I should be ready for the exam today. IF not, I will never be a CPA and should just give up now 😉

    AUD - 95 (89 1st time - expired)
    BEC - 85 (1st time)
    REG - 87 (1st time)
    FAR - 82 (1st time)

I love Roger!! I passed 2 sections using his review and I wished I used him for other 2 sections ( self studied- text book only omg)

I discovered Another 71 too late…this site sure helps as well.

I use roger only and im 3 for 3. Granted my scores wont wow anybody as you can see from my signature but I did pass on my first try. I have a weird style of studying though…I watch all his lectures then I read the textbook word for word while taking notes, then I watch lectures that im weak in again. I also probably dont do as many practice questions as I should 🙁

maxheadroom88, When you studied for Audit, did you supplement Roger's test bank with Wiley or Ninja MC? You only used Roger's book and questions?

    @Martin,

Honestly, I don't do much practice questions but thats just me and I dont know if that strategy is for everybody. I dont own any ninja/wiley supplementary material. I joined this forum because after I took auditing and then BEC I thought I failed so I looked into buying Ninja supplementary material but I ended up passing both on the first try. I honestly dont remember doing any practice questions for auditing. I just watch all the lectures twice and read the textbook word for word and take notes (Audio and paper). I dont feel like its the wisest way of studying but it works for me I guess. I may be the exception to the rule.

maxheadroom88, you have any Audit experience? Sorry for asking so many questions, I just want to see if someone can pass Audit just by relying on Roger's lectures and book. Thanks!

Roger is a great lecturer, it's just that I think his materials aren't amazing. Going away from Wiley wasn't a good decision.

Agree with you there, my advice is get Roger and grab a set of the Wiley textbooks at your library or on Amazon or something. Then use those Wiley books to supplement the Roger books/online lectures and MCQs
