I did it. I’ve watched all the lectures, did all the study questions, and reviewed every other day to keep the materials fresh. People say FAR is hard but honestly, these are all topics we’ve learned in college. Although it’s very, um, comprehensive.

When I got to Section 16, I’ve learned Pensions, Bonds, Leases, Receivables, and Liabilities and I felt so awesome.

Now that I completed all sections (31 total), I feel worse off. Going through Gov’t, Installments Cash Flows, and Consolidation really rack my brain as I never seen most of these topics before, save for Gov’t and Cash Flows.

I am going through Ninja MCQs new questions and so far I am averaging 50-60%. In combination of doing UWorld Roger CPA Review MCQs and sims, I should be able to pinpoint my weak areas and work on those like mad.

Holy cow this exam is huge. 10% of FAR exam is government too so obviously I need to nail that down. I just feel like I’ve lost my luster I had when I completed section 15 and the willpower too. Also it bugs me I still don’t have access to authoritative literature to do research questions so I’ve not been doing them. Even though there’s only 1 type of those questions on the actual exam, should probably be prepared for it.

Not sure what I wanted to say but this is how I feel now as I move into review phase.

    FAR 84 (AUG '15)
    BEC 83 (AUG '15)
    AUD 79 (OCT '15)
    REG 71, 78! (NOV '15, FEB '16)

I haven't even really been studying hard for my last week of review. I reviewed all the chapters twice through. I probably should be studying real hard but I also don't want to rack up more stress.

You're most certainly right, once you finish all the material and begin to review, you see how big FAR really is. It sucks the amount of info they want you to remember. I have a pretty decent memory and I still feel like it's overwhelming. I feel bad for those that have a hard time with memory.

Go to AICPA's site and you can do their practice exam. It includes a research question so you can practice it.

    Using Becker self-study
    FAR: (82) 175 hours - 1st attempt
    BEC: (XX)
    AUD: (69) 45hrs of study - 1st attempt
    REG: (XX)

All I can say for FAR is make sure you nail down Not for Profit and Government. Tons of MCQs… And of course, make sure you know your JEs front and back. Don't memorize them…understand how they work and how the balance sheet and income statement flow.

    FAR - Passed (82)
    BEC - Passed (76)
    AUD - Passed (89)
    REG - Passed! (81)
