    NINJA Question –

    Hi all,

I’ve been using Roger lectures and Wiley test bank and they’ve worked for me so far (FAR and REG). AUD is the next one.

I did some research to figure out the best way to study for AUD, and I found some comments in 2017 saying that Wiley AUD test bank didn’t work and Gleim AUD Sims were really good. This made me wonder if I should not use Wiley TB for AUD. I’m hesitant in switching to a different product since Wiley TB has worked for me, but at the same time I wanna make sure I choose the right one.

I’m considering one of the following options:
    1. Wiley TB+ Gleim TB($400)
    2. Ninja TB+ Gleim TB($317)
    3. Wiley TB Only ($150)
    4. Ninja Only ($67)

Which one would you recommend? Thank you in advance!

I recently took AUD and I used the Ninja and Wiley test bank option, however I felt like the questions on the exam were not represented very well by either test bank. I'm waiting on my score so I couldn't tell you if maybe it just felt like they were different or not but if I don't pass the exam I am planning on using the Ninja+gliem option. I felt like Ninja really helped me solidify my knowledge of the concepts which helped with the simulations. Most the questions from Wiley you will see in Ninja. I saw a couple other people had the same experience I had with the questions from the two test banks not being very close to the actual test. I hope that helps your decision.

FYI I used Wiley and ninja for FAR and REG and thought they really prepared me for the exam and the questions were very similar to the actual exam questions.

@Matthew How did Ninja help you solidify the concept – did the explanations on MCQs help you? What did you think about Ninja's and Wiley's Sims?

Yes I agree that Wiley TB prepares you for FAR and REG. I passed them with no problem. It's just a little strange that some people say it didn't really work for AUD.

And thanks so much for your comment!

I did AUD 4 times. 1st only Becker. 2nd Becker+NINJA. 3rd time I used the Gliem test bank. 4th time, I used the Gliem test bank plus some Wiley lectures. The third time I tested, I hammered out TONS of SIMS and did lighter study with the MCQs. When I got my score card back, I scored low in MCQs and high in the SIMS. The 4th round of testing, I only did SIMS for units I knew I was weak in. That seemed to help.

I've heard lots of people say that Wiley sucks for AUD too, but I didn't hear anything negative specifically about the test bank. I used Wiley's lectures/study for about 5 topics or so and it really helped me in the areas I didn't quite understand. The

If using a lecture series plus a test bank has worked for the other exams, are you considering using lectures again?

@Krstnam I'm using Roger's lectures. I'm trying to figure out the most suitable test bank to supplement Roger.

I used Roger's lectures and Wiley Test Bank for FAR and REG, but I'm trying to figure out whether I need to switch from Wiley TB to a different test bank just for AUD.

I don't think I'm gonna purchase Wiley lectures cause Roger's lectures seems to be sufficient so far.

@Esyc I felt like the explanations and the links to the topics helped me solidify the concepts. I also think Ninja does a better job of bringing in multiple sections. Sometimes with Wiley it will all be from the same section then my next test will be all from a different section. Not as much variation and hitting on different areas.
As far as the Sims I really haven't used the Ninja Sims for any of the sections. For AUD I did a couple Sims to practice the research and kind of see what the document simulations would be like. The best practice with the Sims was actually from the practice AICPA exam. They were very similar in my opinion.
I have used the lectures for all my sections so far. I don't watch the videos I just read the book and do multiple choice. I also listen to the Ninja audio notes every morning and read the Ninja notes before the exam. I will say using Wiley for AUD at first I struggled through the lesson but by the end the concepts all came together. So don't give up AUD is one of those sections that it's better once you've finished all the lessons. If I do have to retake AUD I probably will focus on multiple choice and then supplement reading the lessons I continue to stuggle with. I don't know if I'll go through all the lessons again. I hope this all helps with your decision and good luck on your preparations! Let me know what you end up doing and we'll have to share scores when it's all done. (As long as mine is a 75+ I'm good haha)

@Matthew Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. I really appreciate it! 😀 You helped me so much.

I think I'll go for Ninja and possibly purchase Gleim as well. I'm planning to work on the MCQs starting tomorrow so we'll see.

I wish you the best luck and hope you take some good rest. I'm sure you won't have to retake AUD. But by any chance you don't pass this time, you will pass next time. Thanks again!
