    NINJA Question –

I am using the ninja material to study for FAR. It is taking me a really long to get through each question. As i do a question i read the answer whether I got it right or wrong. Then I write the response if I didn’t know the information. At this point I am at a 43%. I know this is horrible!

My question is how many questions should I try to complete a day? I haven’t finished the assessment portion of the questions. (How many questions have to be completed to finish that?) Should I change tactics and just begin doing questions and not taking as many notes on them until I complete the assessment portion.

I am also listening to the audio and reading the ninja notes.

What should I be doing differently? All advice is welcome.

My scores were low as well when I first started going through the questions. As you keep going, the information and material begins to stick. In the assessment phase, I wouldn't worry about taking excessive notes, but I would definitely do that starting in the Adaptive Learning phase.

Your persistence is key. Don't get discouraged by the low initial scores. Keep plugging away and you'll begin to notice the scores increase. My early averages for scores was in the 50% range. 3200 questions in they're now up to around 80%. Repetition, repetition, repetition.

In FAR its heavily important that you understand how the finances flow and how financials operate. Conceptually try to understand the material from a high level first and work your way down. Then keep digging until you get deep enough in the roots that you get comfortable.

I used Ninja for FAR as well. My score was low for quite a while. You just need to keep at it, and your score will go up.

Studying is very discouraging in the beginning. I will try to do 90 questions a day on weekdays and 270 questions on weekends. I strongly recommend you do questions by topic, not just section 1, but section 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and go on.

Well, in my studies, I don't stop and read answers if I got the question right (unless I guess it). And I don't take notes. I discover one good strategy is to do all the questions first, don't read the explanation even if I got it wrong. That way, I killed down 40% of the questions and only focus on the 60%. Afterward, what I already know I am sure I know them by heart, and that looking at 600 questions are definitely better than looking at 1000 questions. (I am tricking my brain to keep myself motivated!)

Then I just keep doing the questions until I get it right. Overall, after I do the same question wrong 3-5 times, I will go read the explanations.

I also think sometimes NINJA explanations are too in detail. Since I only want to pass the test, it's not necessary for me to know every single piece of why and how.

Thanks @ yellowsugar. I am going to try this strategy. I am currently getting about 60 questions done a day and I feel like it should be more.
