    NINJA Question –

    Hi All,

After taking a long break to focus on my job, I’m going to try again to tackle the CPA exam. I’ve scheduled to take FAR on 7/16/15. I’ve bought the Roger CPA book and am definitely going to buy the ninja notes and multiple choice questions. My issue is not knowing how to properly study…should I watch the video’s then go over the notes then do the questions? For how many hours a day?

    I feel very lost.

    Thanks!

I have the same tools = Roger and the NINJA 10pt combo. My schedule at a minimum was:

    2 to 2.5 hours a day studying M-F (8-10:30pm)
5 hours a day on Sat and Sun. I'm not sure that study time after 4-5 hours is quality, but everybody is different.
I did this for approximately 10 weeks. Reading all of the forum posts here put the fear of God into me about the FAR test. I only wanted to take it once.

During my study hours I watched all of the Roger videos lectures and took hand written notes. I did all of the Roger homework questions after all of the video lectures to freshen my memory. Then I went to NINJA audio in the car. 45 mins to and from work and I started the NINJA MCQ. I took more notes on notecards while doing the NINJA MCQ. If I had slow time at work I was doing NINJA MCQ. The last 30 days before my exam I skipped going out to lunch and stayed in to study. Hammering MCQ. Overall, I put in approximately 80 hours on the MCQ. Trending score in the 80s and overall average was upper 70s.
