    NINJA Question –

I read in a couple of posts and also saw in a video that Jeff recently posted stating to read the book first. As Jeff was explaining the process to pass the exam just with Ninja material. So Im gonna try it. Question is – how long should it take me to read the book? Do people really read the book? Every book is like 500 pages. I read like 50 pages in 2 days and at that rate it will take will 20 days to read the book. Thats without taking a day off. So almost a month to read the book, is it worth it? Any comments regarding the book will be appreciated. By the way, I love the Ninja book, nice work Jeff, just not sure if me taking a month to read it is normal.

If this is the first time sitting for this test, I'd highly recommend reading the book from cover to cover, ESPECIALLY the NINJA book because everything you need is in there.

If you're sitting for AUD and you're an Auditor in Public, then you might be able to get away with skimming and then non-stop MCQ/Sims.

The whole book in a month is ooookay, as long as you are NAILING the concepts and not just going through the motions.

You say you did 50 pages in 2 days, but that was Wednesday and Tuesday. How many hours did you spend reading? That'll give us a bit better gauge of your progress.

    Also:

“…Thats without taking a day off…” welcome to the next year or so of your life 🙂

Kettlepot brought up some good points in trying to understand how many hours you put in to cover the 25 pages a day. Reading the book is going to be long and ardous. The last time I took Audit I read the Wiley book from cover to cover. It was dry and boring and I had moments I wanted to quit but I kept on. This go around I am reading the Ninja book. Its a little easier to read compared to the Wiley textbook. I read and take notes on certain areas and then some pages I just skim over. Granted this is my 4th go around so I kinda have a good grasp of what I know and what I need to spend more time on.

If this is your first go around its going to take time especially with making sure you need to truly understand the material. Some chapters you will get through faster because you might grasp the material so you might go through more than just 25 pages in that night.

Thanks for the feedback. I read for about 2.5 to 3 hours each day. Im not rushing thru it, trying to nail the concepts as you would say. Problem is will I remember those concepts 1 month later.

When I read the book I would do questions from each section. I would do at least 30 to 50 questions a day. Once I moved on from that section I would do a comprehensive the next day that would cover questions from the sections that I covered. I tried to get through at least 50 a day. I would try to do between 10 to 20 during my lunch hour at work. Some days it was hard to even get through 5 questions. This helped me keep the material fresh from past weeks while learning new material.

I tried the whole go through all the material and then get back to questions and it was a big mistake because I could not remember anything. This is why I love Ninja MCQs because I can just pick to do 5 questions at a time.
