AnonymousInactiveNINJA Question –
So I recently bought the Ninja Notes, Ninja Flashcards and WTB for FAR.
Would it be okay to follow Jeff’s plan to read the notes everyweek and write the notes back manually everyweek then do the flascards daily and also go through all the WTB questions 5 times?
Or is there material in the CPAExcel books that is more beneficial?
Please advise.
Thanks,
CPA002

acampParticipantI passed 3 out of 4 exams using Ninja notes + WTB.
<note: I always did well in financial accounting in school, enjoyed econ, finance, etc that BEC covers and well, got lucky with REG lol, aaaand missed AUD for a couple points!>
Ninja + Wiley Test Bank: [FAR - 81] [REG - 76] [BEC - 88] [AUD - 73](doh!)
Becker Videos: [AUD - 82]

KimboroniMemberI don't think I could do it. I mean, maybe I could pass, but I don't think I'd have the comfort level to go in and take the test without having more detail in my head. NINJA materials give a pretty broad overview.
FAR is my weakest area, and it's been 2 years since I took intermediate accounting. So I need lots of refreshers and practice.
Although… WTB does have really good hints and notes if you use those. It's almost like having a textbook. At least the 2013 format did.
AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)Disclaimer: My ninja avatar is not meant to imply that I have any affiliation with this site other than being a forum member. That's a pic of a T-shirt that my daughter gave me for my birthday. 🙂

AnonymousInactiveYou could do it as long as you really utilize the textbook link in the WTB. The Ninja Notes for FAR are good, but I would say that 75% of my exam was more detailed than the Ninja Notes so I'm extremely glad I took my own notes from the Wiley book and the WTB and added them to the Ninja Notes for my studying.

RedSoxFan77Membercpa002, that depends on your comfort level with FAR material. If I sat for FAR right out of college, with financial accounting fresh in mind, then that may be enough. If I sat years after college, then I would get the Wiley book and invest in an in depth review course.
FAR 75
AUD 74, 82
REG 58, 74, 83
BEC 68, 75
Licensed 7.1.14!!!April 22, 2014 at 2:27 pm #545604

How many letters do you needParticipantThe CPAExcel books are so cheap I would still suggest picking them up. I know it's worked for some but FAR is just so much detail that I would want more than just the WTB explanations. Some even say the books are too much info but I would rather take a block of wood and whittle it down than try to build a house out of popsicle sticks. Not to say that NINJA notes weren't extremely helpful, they absolutely were. I just think that you get a whole lot of stuff for an additional fifty bucks, I think it's worth it; especially for FAR
MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?

studylongUstudywrongMemberGo for it! If it works great, if not then change your approach and focus on your weak areas with text or videos the second time around. OR you could follow the NINJA framework as explained the NINJA Notes. I know that method works!
Limiting your study time to 6-8 weeks is very important, especially if you are skipping out on Videos or text. Two 7 week attempts at FAR is better than one 14 week attempt.
You should know your weaker areas during the last week of review and you could always read some text at that point.
Taking good notes on MCQs is just as important as how many you complete. Rewriting those with the NINJA notes has a huge payoff.
Good luck
