The goal is do a comprehensive review of each subsection of FAR. Tonight I will do Not-for-Profit (Nongovernmental) Accounting and Reporting and Governmental Accounting and Reporting on the NINJA MCQ. Going to be a long night but I am ready to pass this thing. Challenge is on.
I'm at 184 right now. It takes me about an 1-1.5 hours to get through each 30 question set because I'm reading all the explanations and taking notes, even if I get them right. I'm not sure I'll make it to 500 because I have plans tomorrow, but I'm going to try my darndest!
To what extent is everyone trying to review the problems? Are you reviewing them after you finish 500? I am trying to get through 500 questions, however, the review portion is slowing me down.
I'm reading links and taking notes as I go. I have sat in this chair for 6 hours last night and 5 hours today (taking short breaks in between sets of 30 to check the forum) and I have only gotten through 306 questions. Essentially 10 hours if I just say those breaks add up to one hour. That's not too bad–nearly 2 minutes per question, realizing that some have no links and little explanations..you either know it or you don't and others I spend 4-5 minutes jotting down notes on. The way I do it–one little section at a time means I don't have to take too many notes in one set because the links and concepts repeat themselves when testing on one topic at a time. It is time consuming, but if you rush through just to get to the 500 you probably aren't really learning anything.
@mamabear On average I take more than 4-5 minutes per question. This is something I need to work on. I hope that with repetition I can pick up it up and improve my time and overall score.
I am definitely learning a lot more when I write down the concepts which is good in the long run.
