    NINJA Question –

I still have my Wiley 2016 materials. I tried passing at least 1 sec. before the new CPA test but had no luck (69 BEC). Took a break for the summer and now I’m going to start get cracking again.

I read some posts here saying that the CPA review is not quite up to date with the new exam so how should I start? Would studying BEC again with what i’ve got be enough? I’m thinking about using Wiley 2016 books/ updated lectures + 2016 Wiley Test bank and perhaps purchase a ninja product to prepare me for the new exam.

I would definitely suggest getting new materials. There had been a lot of changes since 2016 and especially now coming to 2018. Then supplement Wiley with audio notes and ninja mcqs.

Also, I would suggest study BEC again and retake it since you already have studied for it and have a general idea of the exam.

    good luck.

I'm not sure what Wiley package you have (or really what all of the differences are) but can't you update your Wiley software/test bank? They should have the partner until you pass guarantee, and for me (I have Platinum) that includes an updated test bank. The only thing I have to purchase are the textbooks, which I choose not to since they are the same thing I have access to in the software.

Regardless, I do recommend Ninja to supplement. At this point, I use Ninja pretty much exclusively to help prepare for the exams.

There's few changes in CONTENT between the 2016, current and 2018 exam – and virtually no of it is material. The COMPOSITION of the exam changed, sure but don't be fooled — the major review programs made very few changes (and much of them were dedicated to introducing the new exam format). Reality is, there have been few material changes to the exam since the content was last re-orchestrated (2011 IIRC). Of course, the big review companies don't want you to know this, because they want to collect every dollar they can from their already overpriced material (although most have changed their policies so that you're not purchasing the material but rather a license to it for a specified amount of time.)

@Jennifer I got the Platinum Wiley. I just logged in and my Test Bank says 2016 Test Bank. Should I call them to update it to 2017?

@Shadow Hokage. I purchased Platinum Wiley in November of 2016 and started with the 2016 package after Q1 2017 when I logged in there were additional boxes under the My Products tab of which included CPA Review FAR Course (not labeled by year), but the 2016 package was blocked out by Review, Test Bank etc by section. I had online chatted with a representative and she actually removed the 2016 material from my page so that all I had access to was the 2017 to avoid confusion. The new 2017 integrates the Review material with the Test Bank – to access the Test Bank only when you enter the section FAR, BEC, REG, AUD that you need there should be a Tab called Assess and that will give you the option of the Test Bank. Honestly I do not know if they changed things much from 2016. I have come across a few questions that now say undefined and are not available and in a few of the Lectures I have come across you can tell that a few minutes/seconds of material has been added. If you received the 2016 text the text does not 100% line up with the order of the online syllabus and a few chapters are not in the text. I have used Wiley only for AUD and BEC and watched all the videos, read the material, and did all of the test bank and passed both the first try. Hoping for the same luck for FAR and REG. If you haven't already started studying my words of advise are start with FAR as it is a beast and if I don't pass both my next two exams the first try I risk losing my AUD score. Good Luck!!!

What @Keldawg1616 said. If you go in the actual course, you can access the 2017 test bank that way.

Way back when I first purchased, the test bank had limited time access. I was very happy when they integrated the test bank because that meant that I got it back! Between that and the Ninja bank I'm good.
