So I have been following the NINJA framework for FAR and so far I feel like I am learning much more than the first time I took FAR and failed with a 63. Now my one concern is that once I finish watching all my lectures, I will have trouble applying all that I have learned to the MCQ’s. Should I be alarmed by low scores at first when I begin doing the MCQ’s?

I would not do the MCQs as you go along, but read the book or watch the videos while taking a lot of notes, then review those notes and possibly rewrite them once before you start your quizzing. It serves the purpose of 1. seeing if you actually retained the stuff you read/watched weeks ago and 2. really showing you where your weak areas are AFTER going through all the material at least once. If you quiz after each lecture you may not actually be retaining long term, but just remembering from seeing that section of material in the recent past.

@cpamommy nice to see u again. I see we both are in the same boat, btw when do you plan on taking FAR? my plan is last week of FEB if things go according to plan. I just want to be sure regarding note taking and what is your strategy. I have serious doubst about my note taking skills as I feel i am writing the whole book again and it's taking too much time almost double the lecture time. Also I was wondering if i dont take notes and refer to the Ninja notes and audio for review after watching the lecture will that be the same as taking my own notes? thanks and good luck

Hey zubairs! I would love to take FAR at the end of February, but it's probably going to be the beginning of April instead. I took the holidays off and just got back to studying yesterday. For AUD I took my own notes and incorporated them in to the Ninja Notes for one comprehensive set of notes. After watching 3 lectures last night I have decided not to watch any more lectures unless I just need extra clarification on a particular topic. I will read a chapter in the book and jot down notes I deem important (minimal in comparison to what I would have highlighted if I were still using a highlighter), then take the quiz from the book at the end of each chapter and make notes on the ones I get wrong, then I will review and rewrite all of the notes, then I will start quizzing and add to my notes any additional information needed from incorrect MCQs. It's not a perfect method, but the inability to reset the WTB for a final review made me change the way I study now from the way I studied for AUD. I want to get as much “studying” done as possible before I start quizzing so I don't have a bunch of questions flagged as incorrect when really I knew the answers but just started quizzing too early. I think there are plenty of people that don't take notes on the reading, but just take notes on the incorrect MCQs and do just fine on the exams. Good luck! @cpamommy thanks for the reply i have joined the study group. Im trying to go with the ninja method this time it's time consuming but I guess retaining info is the key here. also some of the Ninja alum swore by it so i am putting my money on jeff for FAR lol! good luck to you
