I have both Gleim and NINJA but I felt like Gleim is very overwhelming even though I study full time. Their multiple choice questions are challenging and it takes forever to do. I am now using Ninja only and feel like the book is more condensed and easier to understand. If you used Ninja exclusively did you follow Jeff’s approach and pass? How did you study? My exam is in about 30 days.

Mi Chan. I used Ninja only and followed all steps in their framework for my first attempt and ended up failing with 67. I purchased Gleim for my retake and follow their adaptive learning approach and passed with 80. I’m very liked Ninja book and MCQ bank but I were struggled with Sims on my first attempt, so I definitely recommend go over Gleim sims, their difficulty compared to the actual exam. Good luck!

@Sasha I do plan to practice the Sims in Gleim to enhance my understanding. How long did you study for FAR? I have 30 days to study full time, practically it's more than enough but if I follow the Gleim approach I will spend at least 20 days on going through the chapters and 10 days for review (if I absolutely stick to the plan). The problem is I don't find myself being able to finish every unit (reading, adaptive quiz, MCQs, Sims) in one day and retain all the information. Is it ideal to just focus on doing questions rather than reading carefully and taking notes and still pass?

Mi Chan. It takes me 6 weeks for 1 attempt with Ninja and 8 weeks for second attempt with Gleim. I’m studied 2-3 hours every day, but for your understanding I earned my degree abroad and was graduated long time ago, so it definitely will take less if you can study full time and more familiar with exam content. My suggestions for you just read the Ninja book and then do MCQs from Ninja, then try sims from Gleim for that topic. If you feel comfortable with MCQ and sims material then move on to next topic, if not grind deeper to Gleim book. Also Ninja notes were very helpful for me to keep information fresh in my mind. So the main idea it’s found your weak areas and spend more time on them

Wow, I just got a coupon for 1/2 of gleim from a friend. I'm going to look into it (although I am not supposed to spend anymore on materials). I have ninja thinking I might need a little extra. I am looking for order, I don't just want to open the book and start at page one. Thoughts?

@tncincy The Gleim book is super comprehensive. All the questions from the test bank can be referred to the details in each subunit, if you do the study session in the standard Gleim order you'll see what I mean. The book is very well-written to be honest, just like reading an academic paper, very concise but too much passive tone which I don't like. I used it for BEC and thought it was taking a very long time to go over the 20 units, I had to skim through unit 19 and 20 that covered cost accounting and didn't have time to finish their MCQs, and ended up failing. I don't blame Gleim cause I didn't exactly follow their approach, but I would like a more efficient way to create a structure in my brain, instead of trying to digest every detail slowly. We'll see what happens to my FAR exam with Ninja…

If anything I would like to try the test bank, but if it's similar to ninja I won't make the case for getting more materials to pass. If I have a really, really good case, my husband might bite. lol. I'm looking at the ninja study planner for far. There are two, the 7 week plan and the 4 week, So I guess I can make a better decision from there. I lose motivation when it seems like I'm taking forever to get through the materials. I also thought about how to approach Sims, that was my very weak point a few tries ago. As you can see I am sorting it out.

I did not spend anymore money on study materials=, even though they are 1/2 off. I did find the accelerated plan for Ninja and it is working well for me right now. I usually do well early, and hit my panic spots later. But I am following this study plan and hoping I am prepared enough to pass far. Hope things are going well for everyone.
