NINJA Question –

I read all the way through Jeff’s MCQ FAQ questions and still have a couple questions :

1. I have 4 weeks for MCQ’s. Since I work full time I devote ~ 15-17 hrs per week to studying. Should I plan to make it through all 1,500 +/- MCQ’s available in Ninja? At what pace should I get through these? I am averaging 1min 30secs per question to read – answer and review why it was correct/incorrect. I also have full CPAExcel and all their MCQ’s.

In FAQ’s he mentions to make it through ALL unanswered Q’s then go back and do trouble questions. At my pace, I may not make it through all until 1 week or so before my test. So should I jump ahead sections to make sure I hit everything?

Is it bad (harmful to comprehensive study) to take new MCQ’s based on each section. I have been taking 30 questions a section at a time until I have answered all Q’s once then moving on to the next section. Should I mix all sections together?

Lastly – SIMS – How often? How many should I go through?

Anyways… This is a TON of random blabbering – Any helpful tips are appreciated! 🙂

I can study 15 to 17 hours a week as well and had the same problem as you do. Everybody keeps talking about solving thousands of MCQs and going back over and over again until you are sick of them.

The problem with that system is the time needed and amount of information you need to retain. As you solve more questions, the scope of information gets bigger and becomes almost impossible to manage. I realized that I became unable to solve the problems I used to solve before because everything got messed up in my mind. It is a huge confidence buster and you don't want to be in that situation at any point during your study.

My advise would be to first go back an re-solve your review course's class/homework questions. I found Ninja as a great tool for handling tougher questions. If it throws something at you that seems out of whack (and it will), don't worry about it and keep going.

Ninja simulations are excellent though. I would focus my time on simulations rather than the quantity of MCQs. I would go with 1 to 1.5 hours for MCQs and 30-45 minutes for simulations per day.

In your week before the exam, start generating tests with all sections. I would not worry about doing a practice exam.

First, yes definitely do 1,500 questions. Hit the Review stage!
I also did 30 question banks per session. I would go back every other day and pull Previously Missed Questions. If you miss those questions again, it was helpful to write those Q& A ‘s down. IF you got those questions wrong again, it means you didn't even remember the answer from the first time you got it wrong. As I went through the sessions I would spend extra time with those concepts and questions.

Bump. I'd like to hear more strategies for using NINJA MCQ. I started using REG NINJA MCQ two days ago and it feels overwhelming. I still have a month and a half to go until my exam but I just feel like its SOOOOO much material. Any efficient methods of attack would be appreciated.
