    NINJA Question –

I was on the fence with buying NINJA MCQ. I figured that Becker and WTB would be enough. But when everything is on the line, you sort of don’t want to take any chances. So I purchased NINJA MCQ. I’ve only gone through about 50 MCQ so far and right now, MY MIND IS BLOWN. There are sooooooooooooooo many things I’ve come across that neither Wiley nor Becker touched on. And the explanation tools are amazing. I almost look forward to getting a question wrong because I can’t wait to read the response (kidding….sort of….) Hopefully it’s these little things that keep me inching up to a 75. However, my one (slight) qualm are the 2013 tax thresholds that are referenced for REG course. Will there be an update for 2014 that gets pushed out? If not, I guess I’ll just have to remember 2013 and 2014 ones and hopefully not confuse them all 🙂

    Thanks Jeff!

    Great post!! 🙂

Yes – 2013 is currently tested and then 2014 tax law will be uploaded sometime soon…I'll post updates regarding this.

The 2014 updates will be minor.

I didn't really need them for BEC but I honestly can't wait to test them out for REG in Q3!

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?

Hi Jeff (or anyone). What is the best way to tackle NINJA SIM's???? I see that you cannot select one topic area of SIMS (ex. Individual Taxation) on the NINJA software. So do you recommend mastering the MCQ and then moving on to SIMS at the very end? Or is there really a way to pinpoint and work on SIM topic areas in the software? Thanks!

Is Ninja MCQ that 47 dollar thing? I'm tempted to buy it if I failed Reg but I'm hesistant because of the 3 month expiration. I'm already emptying my wallets left and right for Gleim and scheduling tests; I don't wanna blow another 47 bucks to have something expire.

@candle – Yes the NINJA MCQ is the 47 dollar thing. Let me tell you this…….I was hesitant to buy the NINJA MCQ because I am already using Becker and Wiley. But after awhile, I noticed I was just memorizing MCQ answers to try and get my score up. And that's not right. REG is not an exam you should mess with in just “memorizing” answers. You have to know all the ins and outs. There is nothing wrong with having more than 1 studying guide of material. And in fact, it probably is better to study with because you can cross reference and TEACH yourself (because let's be honest, these study textbooks are not nicely written). I like to think that this $47 is 47 points on exam day. Just my 2 cents though 🙂

The expiration is holding me back as well. I take FAR beginning of July. If I buy now, the NINJA MCQ will expire on 9/1/14. Of course, if I fail FAR, I can't take it again in the same quarter. So, I would have to take it in October… That would mean I wouldn't get to use them for over a month leading up to my next try…

    REG - 83
    BEC - 81
    AUD - 73, 92
    FAR - 90

    Done!

I'll post the list of NINJA MCQ sims by # so you can select the topic. As far as when to practice the sims, that's up to you…probably at the end is what I would do.

re: $47… I could have priced it much higher like other options ($150 for 1 year), but this way you only pay for it for one testing period (3 mo). If you need it more, you can re-purchase and still come out ahead financially.

Do you think the NInja MCQ will help me with S corporations and 1933/1934 act? Those are my weakest subject. I don't need anymore help with individual taxation, Parnership Taxations, and C corporation taxation I have those down.

You can drill down into those. The software will tell you what you're weak in if you make it into the assessment phase.

    It's a $47 investment into passing REG.

It works on Android Tablets, but not phones…or at least I'm not claiming it does, so consider it a bonus if it does.
