    NINJA Question –

To get 5/9 of $180,000 loss I worked it two ways to get $100,000

    A) $180,000/9 = $20,000; then multiply $20,000 by 5 to get $100,000

    B) use the calculator to divide 5 by 9 which gives you .5555555555; then multiply by $180,000 to get $100,000

However, Ninja divides 5 by 9 and rounds the answer to .56 then multiplies by $180,000 to get $100,800.

Does anyone know how to proceed on the actual test just in case both answers are choices? Do you round first or keep going on the calculator without rounding?

The actual exam calculator will likely not round it. I need to ask my programmer if we can tweak this.

Thanks Jeff! I doubt both answers will be on the test, but you just never know what those tricky AICPA guys will throw at you. 🙂
