NINJA Question –

I am taking REG for the third (ugh) time July 1st. After I didn’t pass the 2nd time I reset all my scores for CPAexcel and NINJA MCQ and started all the way over. The material has obviously come way quicker so while I have gone over EVERYTHING this time around, it hasn’t taken me as long. When doing the MCQ I am really trying to answer the question in my head before looking at the MCQ answers because I am scared that I am memorizing and not really learning some stuff. Here are my stats.

The SIMS are what killed me. Score report had me stronger in 3 of 6 topics, comparable in the other 3, stronger in MCQ overall and weaker in SIMS.

Anyone have any last minute tips???? I cannot miss this one again! I am already missing all my summer vacation because of this stupid thing and having to retake a section because of a stupid 74 on my 2nd attempt!

I too kept failing Reg to those sims. I did all the Ninja sims and most of the Becker sims and I can say it helped a little. I don't know if someone can truly be ready for Reg sims, I used the crap of the IRC though. You see people talking about using ithe IRC and I was never able to. Well I tried like heck and it finally paid off. Hang in there I get the feeling you will pass it this time, took me 4 attempts at Reg to finally pass it.

Thank you! I know there is hope! I tried using the IRC also on my first and 2nd attempt and it wasn't much help either. I will try this time too and hope it helps! I did all the sims in my software and with ninja and I had not done the NINJA ones on attempt #2 so maybe that will help!

@Megatron – I am going for attempt #5, and I too keep hearing the IRC is what will save you on REG SIMs. I used the AL in AUD to find exact answers, word for word, for 2 SIMs. I am not having the same luck with REG.

Were you able to find answers for an entire TBS? I find that I can only find part of one TBS each time, and it takes forever! Of course, there are 6 TBSs including research, how do you find the time? Can you break down how you did it?

@lastchance. Out of curiosity….what were your scores on your attempts and did you feel really prepared when you went in? Asking because I have been studying REG forever (taking it twice in the mean time) and at this point my attitude is how in the world can I fail this thing again. I mean, I dont think I'll get a 99 or anything (obviously) but I feel like I am doing so well with all my MCQ and SIMs that unless every single question is trying to trick me and off the wall I don't see how I can fail. I would love to hear how you felt about your re-takes!

Well, let me give you the full picture…

FAR – 60,71,76

AUD – 71,71,75

BEC – 75

REG – 66,62,65,69 – WTF!!!

My last 4-5 attempts (passed BEC) have been scores in the 60s….all REG.

This exam sucks. And I don't think it's the review courses I have used, or the time I have spent (over a year with BEC sprinkled in there). I have used CPAExcel, WTB, and Ninja in my previous attempts. Now I am using Gleim TB/SIMs and Roger Cram. I just never absorbed tax the way I should have, and the SIMs are my downfall.

Study hard, put in your time, and hopefully the 74 bumps up enough to a pass for you on attempt #3. My biggest fear is that I will end up with your 74 on my 5th try!!! Good luck….

Thank you! I feel like I know the material and just am not able to do the SIMs. My score report confirmed that for me. I just need to pray I get SIMS I can handle because I think the MCQ part I can do without too much trouble.
