SGShiverParticipantNINJA Question –
I think it would be nice to have a MCQ challenge for those of us taking exams in January. I have 20 full study days until my FAR exam and some motivation would be nice. The end goal does not have to be for anything special (except passing the exam lol) I just like the feeling of teamwork.

I'm exhausted and need the motivation to get more in tonight!

James71ParticipantDang monikernc, you're scores are killing my 58% average. Do you do 1 category at a time or mix them? I've been doing 1 category at a time, doing all new questions first, then ones I got wrong.
Keep it up! If I were you i'd keep the scheduled test date. It's too easy to procrastinate with a longer lead date.

CPA4LyfeParticipant@sgshiver wow 230 mcq's is a lot for FAR. I'm also studying for my retake which is on Jan 15. Studying about 6-7 hrs and cannot do more than 130. This is my first time going through all the questions and I am trending 58% which is frustrating. Is it possible to trend above 80% in the next 2 weeks of the final review? I've read other posts on that say that with 80% trending you have a better chance of passing. Anyways let me know how I should approach my next 2 weeks if the final review and how to get that trending score up. Thanks.

monikerncParticipantjames71 – my early trending was really low as i did the pass through section by section doing only new questions. my trending score is rising only because i am now going back and doing missed questions in each section until i get them right. that is why i believe my average better reflects what i really know. i had to do a lot of questions to get the redo's right. these next 3 days will be important for me to reach a level where i am really grasping everything.
ignore your trending during this first pass. just keep moving through. learn don't memorize!
i am up to do more after a cup of coffee.

amandafaith15ParticipantI'm re-taking AUD on January 6th. My office closes for the week after Christmas so I have been studying hard. I've found I can only get 5 to 6 hours of good studying in before my brain quits. I try to study for 1 to 1.5 hours then take a 15 – 30 min break.
I've been hitting NINJA MCQs hard -160 on Monday, 240 Tuesday, and 140 yesterday. I was also rewriting all my notes in that time frame.
I feel like I'm getting some of the same questions repeated over and over. I'm thinking of starting to use my Wiley test bank as well.

SGShiverParticipantBiff-1955-Tannen: wow 600 is still an impressive number
Monikernc: Keep hanging in there you have kept at it every day which is dedication!
AccidentalAccountant: Glad you have joined me in this journey!
James71: I am doing the same as you one section at a time. Some sections upper 70s and some sections in the 50s. I am doing one section at a time to gauge myself as to which sections I need to work harder in during review mode next week.
Safff1: Yes 230 MCQs is a ton of questions each day. I definitely don’t do them all in one setting without breaks. Taking breaks throughout the day and having that mid-afternoon cup of coffee are the major keys to getting my task done. I don’t start my job until next week so I am trying to get as much as I can done before then. As for making it to 80% in the next two weeks, I don’t know personally how possible that is because this is my first exam. However, I have read in other posts that trending scores did not get to the 80s until the last week of their studying so that is motivation for me at least.
amandafaith15: Sounds like you have a great plan mapped out. Those breaks are definitely helpful in the study process.

Great job everyone. I got 129 done yesterday, and hoping for around 200 today.

monikerncParticipantGood tidings for the New Year, fellow Ninja's!!!
Up reviewing BLITZ! for BEC – i think today is last day for free access via active ninja mcq's. So getting my BLITZ! on this morning.
I fell asleep so early last night and would have slept through midnight had the fireworks not disturbed my faithful dog!!! i watched some fireworks from the deck and went right back to bed. serious spreadsheet fatigue from work this week.
today will be a big day on the mcq front. this is the telling weekend. if i can achieve a high enough level of retention my exam will proceed as scheduled on the 18th.
let's get to it!!! 2016 is already slipping away and those 2017 changes are creeping closer!!!
james71 – once you have been through all questions once correctly and hit review i believe the trending score is the one to keep an eye on. at least that is how i felt with audit experience. once i hit review i will copy my detailed progress report into excel and then proceed and compare ongoing detailed progress reports with how i was doing at onset of review phase.
oh happy day!

monikerncParticipantGood morning! I studied all day yesterday but feel so little progress had been made that i indulged in checking for other exam dates in february. I am going to watch whatever bec videos i can find today on youtube and see if this info will start to stick. If not i will have to give myself more time to study and consider additional resources to prepare. Every time i do a problem it is like looking at it for the first time. Very frustrating indeed.
I don't mean to be discouraging to others who are making progress but i am discouraged by my lack of progress on this material.
Any suggestions? Words of advice?FAR 7/25/15 76!

James71Participantmonikernc- thanks!
I feel your pain in regards to seeing questions and then feeling like it's brand new material. I think what works best for me is to retake problems that I got wrong within a day, so it's still a bit fresh in my mind. If it's still not sticking I'll take a break and do another easier section just to recharge my batteries, or read/watch videos on the subject to try to learn the info a bit more. The caveat with retaking the question too soon is I just remember the answer, not the way to get it, so it's usually 8-24 hours between retakes.
I got about 130 questions done yesterday, leaving me with 800 questions to answer correctly, which I'm hoping will take me 8 days.

amandafaith15ParticipantGood morning! I knocked out 210 MCQs yesterday morning in 3 hours, then spent the afternoon with my family for a much needed break. I'm slow to get started this morning. I started off with 30 MCQs and plan to get 240 more done today. I have 575 more MCQs that I haven't attempted that I want to see before my AUD exam on Wednesday. I also plan to review some notes today. I have to go back to work Monday so today and tomorrow are crucial for me. I need to get back to my panicked mindset that motivates me.
