NINJA Question –
Hey everyone! (long post, please bear with me!)
I’ve been a long time follower of A71, but have never actually joined the NINJA movement- until today. I’ve been studying with Becker since last August, and have successfully completed BEC and REG (however, it has been an extreme struggle).BEC (my first exam) I passed with a 83- thinking, okay! I could do this!
REG- I went into studying for this exam, recognizing I had a time constraint due to work and the holidays, but still followed the Becker program to a T, and failed with a 70. Retook 6 weeks later and passed with a 82.
AUD- Took AUD exam 3/10, and once again followed the Becker program, exactly as they had outlined. I was scoring in the high seventies/low eighties on the practice exams and was feeling good going into exam day.I walked out of the exam feeling pretty confident, but nothing outrageous. I was predicting something in the low 80s. Failed with a 73. ugh.
Comparable and Stronger in all but two categories, but weaker for both MCQ and SIMS.
Although I’m sure I’m just getting tired, burnt out and unmotivated, I’m also getting frustrated with Becker and just don’t feel that it is the right learning style for me. I feel that the lectures have too much “fluff” and commentary, and listening to the lectures only to highlight and underline words, just isn’t an effective use of my time. (Especially with the change of the Becker format for 2017-not a fan…)
I’ve heard about the NINJA program and have always been skeptical, but have honestly gotten to a point where I’ll try anything new, just to keep it fresh and interesting.
With that being said, I am scheduled to retake AUD on 4/21 (in about 3.5 weeks). I purchased NINJA MCQ and am hoping to use these and the included SIMS, almost exclusively for my review. I’m rereading the Becker book and the notes I took from last time through, but I am looking for some direction and tips on how to approach NINJA MCQ and make the best use of my time.
I realize 3.5 weeks isn’t a ton of time to review, but considering I was fairly close to passing, do you think pounding out MCQs could be an effective way to go about this? Honestly, any guidance or motivation you can provide, I would greatly appreciate! I’ve been going about this entire process entirely on my own, and could really use some insight from others suffering as much as I am!
Also wanted to note, I dont have the option or flexibility to change the date of my AUD retake. I’m already scheduled to take FAR at the end of May, because my NTS is expiring. The date to retake my AUD exam, is strategically picked to hopefully still give myself 5.5 weeks to study for FAR (which I can’t even bring myself to think about yet!). i really screwed myself with the NTS this quarter….
