    Hi everyone!
So I failed my BEC exam last month and used Roger. Kind of bummed because people said it was such an easy section.Although I loved his lectures the MCQ’s were not challenging and did not reflect the actual CPA exam so I thought I’d give NINJA a try. Ninja MCQ’s are pretty challenging and actually resemble the CPA exam but I am getting low scores-60’s sometimes 50’s). I kind of don’t want to put my time into Ninja lectures/book because I spent SO much time with Roger but I wanted to know your experience and study methods when failing with a different program and starting Ninja. Did you solely try MCQ’s until your score improved? What about the practice simulations?

BEC is not easy..I hated that exam and studied longer for it than any of the others. I used NINJA and just hammered MCQ’s, took copious notes. Read COSO materials, and memorized the cube. I watched free YouTube videos on concepts that needed even more repetition. I reviewed all the variances from my intro to managerial accounting. It was tedious and difficult and I was determined not to have a retake. Halfway through the exam I had a flash of panic that I was failing and brute forced my way to the end.
You can do what it takes but only if you don’t underestimate it. A mile wide and an inch deep. Just keep hitting it. You can do it. Good luck! 🍀

BEC and AUD are tricky exams. I almost gave up on this CPA journey because of BEC exam and it was supposed to be the easiest one. I finally was able to pass once i recognized my weakness on variance analysis. I came up short due to not fully understanding variance analysis. I thought i knew but i didn't since i couldn't solve the simulation questions on variance analysis. I use wiley and they didn't have good simulation questions on variance analysis so what i did was i browsed through all the simulation questions on youtube. Thankfully i was able to find one n helped me to pass.

First off, there are no easy sections for the CPA exam. Certain sections are easier for some people than others. BEC has historically had a higher pass rate, but I have seen it bite people in the rear many of times. I think the most difficult part about BEC is that it covers so many different areas. If you have a weak area don't skip over it, because it will be sure to find you during exam day. I found Becker to have enough material to pass BEC, I never used Roger but they have a pretty good reputation. Certainly give Ninja a try and be sure to use it at least as a supplement, especially the Ninja MCQ's, and make sure to work on your weaker areas. Mile wide and inch deep as MonikerNC mentioned above. One tip that I haven't seen people point out in this forum in a while is to make sure to look at the AICPA practice exam before exam day as it is good for familiarity and you may see a similar simulation etc. pop up on your actual exam. Understand why the answer is correct and why the other choices are incorrect. I personally would either listen to video or read the text material for the areas that you don't understand, but don't let that take you away from hammering a ton of MCQ's.

I agree with @Roboh on taking the AICPA Practice Exam. It does prepare you for the actual exam with the way questions are worded and what they want for the sim’s. It is so essential to read all the answers to the MCQ’s to grasp why the correct one is right and the others are wrong. All sections are a challenge and each requires adequate preparation to succeed. Don’t expect an easy pass or shortcuts to work.

I used Becker and then Ninja as a supplemental. Finished up Becker, and then hammered MCQ after MCQ using ninja the last two weeks of studying before exam day. Also rewrote ninja notes. I failed a bunch of times but when I finally decided to use ninja as a supplement, I would pass lol
