    NINJA Question –

    Hey all,

Relatively new to the site and as I have been reading a lot of the threads and testimonies as to how much the NINJA package helps people’s scores, I was hoping to get some objective advice as to whether I should purchase the NINJA package for FAR.

I am only about a week and a half in to my FAR journey and with the extensive amount of information, I am debating on a couple of things.

The first is that if I should buy NINJA or not as a supplement to my current review course. I’m using Yaeger and I have no problem with it thus far. Should I give the test a go for the first time with only Yaeger/ Wiley Test Bank and trust the money I have already spent to prepare me for it? Or from people’s experience, was it better to supplement before even taking the first exam to give you a better chance to pass it on the first try?

Secondly, if I would decide to buy the NINJA package for FAR, would it be best to buy it now and use it in sync with my Yaeger Review or buy it after I have gone through all of the Yaeger material and use it as a review to see if it covers things that Yaeger may not have?

Sorry for the amount of questions I am asking, I just have realized this early on that there are a lot of very knowledgable people on this site with experience that could give me advice to steer me in the right direction.

I was in a similar boat as you…

I purchased the Roger program with the full intent of getting the NINJA notes and audio to supplement during my first test this summer (BEC) just because of the testimonials on this site. Right before I was about to make my purchase and my continual watching of this site the NINJA MCQs were released. Seeing how people did a lot of supplementation to their programs with the Wiley test bank, I decided to buy the entire program. Money well spent. The NINJA MCQ are much more difficult than the ones provided by Roger and are presented in a much better format. Now I have 2 platforms to practice MCQ getting similar yet different content with both. I love it. I didn't really use the NINJA notes, but did MCQ to death, used the audio driving to and from work, and used the NINJA flash cards when I had the free time to do so. For what its worth and having just started your journey (based upon your sig), I passed BEC and know for sure that I got one of the questions right from my exam only because of NINJA audio :). If I had passed with a 75 that NINJA audio would be worth a million bucks to me today.

Roger provides similar add-on material, but you have to pay extra for it. So if I am paying for it anyway…Supplementing with NINJA is a great way to go.

    BEC 7/14 - PASS
    FAR 10/14 - PASS
    AUD 1/15 - PASS
    REG 4/15 - PASS

I'm using Yaeger and NINJA and I very very very highly recommend the NINJA to go with Yaeger. I like the detail and depth that Yaeger lecture goes into because it helps me get it a little better, but I just don't have time to watch the lectures/read the book multiple times, so I find it hard to efficiently review the topics from the lecture so that I don't forget them.

Since NINJA does everything in bite size quantities I can listen to audio or watch a 5 minute blitz and it refreshes me on the material without investing another 2 hours in one of the lectures.

Also, the NINJA flashcards are a huge help for me as a memorization tool and are another way I can refresh the older material for myself.

So far I've passed AUD using Yaeger and NINJA and am currently studying for FAR.

    AUD- 95
    FAR- 75
    BEC- 83
    REG- 85

Officially done! Exclusively used NINJA for BEC, REG, and FAR

Thanks Silver! Hoping for a pass in AUD as well but have to wait 8 agonizingly long days to find out.

Well, it looks like I'll be getting the NINJA package for at least FAR and potentially all of the other sections!

I used just the Ninja package for AUD and passed. I, too, just started studying for FAR and bought the 10 point combo again. I also got Becker, since I felt I needed something with a little more detail (mainly for the lectures and book). I was really hoping Jeff would have that FAR book ready for us, but no go on that 😉 I'm doing it a little backwards…bought Ninja and supplement with a traditional program.

Hi OP. I'm using CPAexcel as my main study course and supplementing with Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQ's, and Ninja Flashcards (although I got them during the BOOM sale and have yet to use them. Not really a flashcard person, but the price was too good to resist.) The MCQ's are awesome, but honestly, the Ninja Notes are AH-MAZING for FAR.

As you've noticed the material in FAR is …. overwhelming, to say the least. The Ninja Notes provide a framework/outline and a summation of all that information in a pretty neat fashion. Besides being a quick way to refresh information you've seen before (efficient!), they're also a really great tool to “preview” information you'll be seeing in your review course later on. The outline helps make it a smidge less overwhelming. 🙂

Highly recommended as a purchase for use while you're studying.

    FAR - 78
    AUD - 85
BEC - 70, 83! Ninja note bump of 13 points!
    REG - 65, 70, 2016 Q1 retake before FAR expires 02/29/16

CPAexcel + Ninja Notes + Ninja MCQ = Success

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. And boy, I am HANGRY!

    Thanks @HowLuckyWeAre!

Yes it is quite overwhelming already and I'm not that far in yet. Based on your experience, it would seem that purchasing it now and going through it with my CPA review course is going to be the best way to condense everything and keep things straight!

I've always been of the belief that FAR was going to be the most difficult one of the 4 to pass for me because of the amount of information, but the thought of having the NINJA supplement to help organize all of the information for me has given me some confidence even before purchasing it!
