NINJA Question –

Left the exam room feeling a bit frustrated!! I know I did well on the MCQ but the SIMS were a different story. Frustrated at the fact that I reviewed every single SIM of NINJA and was very unlucky to not not even get tested on one similar SIM (uughhhh, NOT 1!!!)

What is even more frustrating is knowing the answer to the research question and NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND IT in the AL 🙁 . The AL did help me on the other SIMS though. I was hoping for the SIMS to be similar to the ones I reviewed, but the way the SIM asked for an answer/presented the problem was very VERY different.

Only bright side is that I just found out that I passed AUD (3rd try) so REG could possibly be my last section!! IF NOT then hopefully I wont be so unlucky next time around

How did you find out about AUD when score release is the 4th?

It may be from the prior score release? He may just not have had the chance to check

SIMS are tough to study for because there is really no telling what any given exam will throw at you. I spent little time practicing SIMS when I was studying, usually did just enough to get familiar with all the different templates to give myself an idea of what I might see on exam day. All you can really do is gain as much knowledge as possible when studying, whether that includes practicing SIMS or not, and apply it to whatever exam you get.

As for AL, I never used it during exams. I know its helpful to some people, but its certainly not a deal breaker. Just stay calm and hope for the best, I often found my most difficult SIMS to be my highest scores 🙂

@spartans92 is RIGHT!! haha…. Long story short I had 3 sections passed by OCT 2015 around there, took AUD in FEB failed 69, took again in April 2016 with REG Expiring on 4/30/16 and my car being broken into on 4/12 my birthday (all my study material was stolen, along w laptop) received a 74!!! (working full time -tax season like most of us )

So i studied all summer and retook AUD in August, but I could not look because I was still so heartbroken by the 74, and decided not to look because worse case scenario I would be devastated and upset that I would not have the full focus to study REG.

Sorry to hear this.

NINJA has 74 REG sims and they're AICPA-licensed content, which is probably overkill as it is.

Hopefully it's all a moot point and you passed.

I think no amount of SIMS practice will really prepare you for SIMS. I used Wiley books and test bank, and I had similar experience as you did. From what I read here, that's what most people experience too. For FAR, I didn't even do a single SIMS before the test, just made sure I knew the material and practiced journal entries as I was doing MCQs.

I agree with @MINO21c. No amount of practice with SIMS can prepare you for what they give on the exam. I did every SIM in becker and did not receive one SIM that was remotely similar to the practice ones. Looking forward to 11/22!

No sims in any software will really give you an edge come exam day, at least in my experience. It's good to do them to solidify concepts but you won't get a word for word sim on the exam like you might a mcq

Appreciate all the feedback guys!! Found out yesterday that I passed with a 77!! So close! I am now officially DONE! Knew it would come down to the SIMS.

i used Gleim sims, looked at some becker sims and looked at NINJA sims for reg and still didn't get anything like what I studied for. Your best bet is to know the material and familiarize yourself with possible sims set ups.
