NINJA Question –

I have my (hopefully) last test-REG next Friday.

I really really don’t want to take another test, I want to be done. So I went through my first busy season, studied, and I feel pretty good about this test. I’m at about 81% trending, “seen” almost all questions, did almost all SIMS, but did about 4500 mcqs. Obviously a lot are repeats, but I’ve made an honest attempt to understand why everything is right or wrong-not memorize answers.

I went through my ninja notes and checked off everything I felt good about (checked majority of topics).

I’m just worried I’m going to have a false security about the test. I’ve worked my butt off but worry a lot.

Any words of wisdom?

I think it is possible to study too long (as an extreme example, if you studied 1 chapter a month and there's 12 chapters so took a year start-to-finish, you'd probably forget a lot from the start by the time you got to the end!), but not too much. If you're focusing on comprehension of the MCQs and not just memory of them, then you should be in good shape. Given that a couple of your other scores have been close (which there's nothing wrong with – 75 or more all counts as pass), I would definitely want to err on the side of “overstudied” if I was you. The only problem with over-confidence is if you start studying less cause you think you've got this in the bag. So, as long as you keep working hard and studying well, you should be fine. Confidence is good as long as it doesn't lead to lax studying.

@Tcohle Have you practiced SIMS? I know that's where most people have their issues with REG. If you haven't I would definitely add those to your study regimen.

That is a ton of MCQ that you pounded out. I try to focus on the MCQ and have a quality versus quantity point-of-view. What I mean is that I thoroughly research every question I get wrong and I've been trying to make a J/E for every question as well. This of course takes up a lot of time and I'm only averaging about 30 MCQ per day.

I'm excited for you. You could almost be done with this stupid exam. I envy your position. Best of luck to you!

Tchole…I was in your camp…for my most recent AUD exam, I did 4100 MCQ (Becker + Ninja) in three weeks. The last week, I was doing 250-300 per day. The key was to read the descriptions of why each possible answer was right or wrong. That helped me learn rather than memorize. The sheer number of questions I did then served to pound the concepts into my head since I wasn't just memorizing. This method helped me increase my score by 10 points over my previous exam attempt.

I don't think doing too many questions is the problem, but you need to make sure that you understand them, I think reading is more important than doing questions.

I agree. When I failed audit last year I definitely knew it was because I didn't study as hard as I should have and I started memorizing mcq answers. From then on I made sure to understand why something was right or wrong. I'm trying to make sure I have a handle on the practice sims. Just nervous is all. Don't feel like I know everything 100%
