IFRS Differences in Jeff’s Ninja Notes?

    NINJA Question –

Do you think the IFRS differences laid out in Jeff’s Ninja Notes are enough to know for the exam? There is a lot in there, and the Becker books has at the end of each chapter (and all chapters combined are also in the back of chapter 10) all the IFRS to GAAP differences. With all there is to remember already for FAR, there is no way you can remember all of the differences wrote out in Becker. Any advice?

Would definitely like to find this out as well.

    FAR:TBD
    REG:TBD
    AUD:TBD
    BEC:TBD

I am using Becker self study, ninja blitz and Wiley (I am using the paperback version of the testbank)

    Brief overview of study method:
    1. Skim through chapter quickly
    2. Watch lecture videos
    3. Take a lot of notes on what the lecturers emphasize
    4. Complete half HW after lectures half after rewriting notes

No one can really say what is or isn't going to be enough for the test. Every test is a bit different, and we're not supposed to share any specifics on the nature of our exam anyway.

All we can do is do our best to study all we can, which isn't everything under the sun, since that would be too much and not possible. And it's a gamble, because if you memorize too much of one subject, that's likely going to push another subject out of your brain.

So the Ninja materials try to boil down each topic to the most likely suspects. Study more than that if you can, but within reason, keeping all of the other factors in mind. I'm hoping that the IFRS differences in Ninja Notes will be enough, but I'm trying to familiarize myself with a bit of other random info as well, on the off chance that I might have to dig deep in my brain for it on exam day.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I do believe the IFRS summary in the notes is fine for the exam.

Is it possible that you will be asked off-the-wall things not included in the notes? Yes.

However, you can only cover so much on a topic before you get diminishing returns on your time by drilling down into the minutiae.
