How to supplement Ninja with Becker

    Hello my fellow accountants.

I have a fairly simple question. I literally just started studying FAR using Becker. Today, I just purchased the FAR NINJA materials to help supplement my studies and had a question for how to “properly” supplement using Becker.

For instance, do I still watch all of the videos for Becker, then read the NINJA notes for the same topic? NINJA recommends waiting until week 5, when we’ve covered ALL topics to begin MCQs. So do I skip the MCQs that Becker materials gives us after each lecture is finished?

    Any feedback is appreciated!

    Tony,

First 2 weeks should be watching the lectures/taking notes (skip the becker questions at the end of each). You dont necessarily need to correlate the notes to the lectures. I read the ninja notes on my lunch and watch the lectures in the morning/evening, so I would be ahead in the notes and go through them twice before I even finish the lectures. Once you are done with the lectures is when you start with the MCQs while taking notes on any questions you miss. I use Wiley, so I go through their test bank first before switching over to the ninja MCQs.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah – I want to get FAR and AUD out of the way then the other 2.

FAR is a beast so far and alot of information to keep up with. Half of the battle is finding a good study strategy from what I hear and I am now trying to find that.

    Thanks man!

I know NINJA also say that we should dedicate the first few weeks to just note taking and lectures. I started out doing the MCQs attached after each lecture but I think I am going to switch and take intense notes then tackle the MCQs. thanks, def helps!

    Your welcome.

And don't feel discouraged if taking notes during the lectures is taking too long. I stopped after a few days on my first exam because i would have never finished the lectures (felt like i was pausing them every 5 minutes). I just make sure to take notes on the MCQ questions i get wrong and re-write the ninja notes/my notes 2 weeks out from the exam.
