    NINJA Question –

So far I’ve been taking MCQ from topic categories instead of randomized. I’m wondering how I should be studying the MCQ. Did you guys do them by topic until you were scoring ~70-80% or were you doing them completely randomized (random MCQ from ALL the topics)? Right now I’m still working on category 2 MCQ so I’m wondering if I should keep doing what I’m doing or be mixing them all up until exam date approaches.

I do them by topic in each category: i.e. cat.2, intangible assets only . Just helps stick concepts better for me, however when I get few days closer to the exam, then random.

Nice. How many questions do you do? And how long do you spent on each category?

I did them in order 20 at a time. I would sort the questions to only show me the ones I havent seen before. My goal was to get through all of them in 5 weeks and then spend the last 2 weeks revisiting the areas that I felt weak on.

I would also do random quizzes on Wiley so that I wouldn't forget stuff.

I wouldn't spend more or less on any category, some categories have more questions, so I would spend more time. It would take me about 2 minutes per question.

Damm, I have like 2 weeks left and just barely started doing the MCQ last Friday. There are some questions that I can easily answer in 1-2 minutes, and others take longer (esp if it's a calculation problem that requires more steps than the average question e.i. bonds). Right now I'm doing multiple sets of 10 but I'm taking TOO LONG to get them done (prob because I'm in the relearning phase and sit there most of the time trying to remember all the steps.) Do you have any suggestions for how to improve my speed on the MCQ? I'm thinking of just timing myself to no more than 2 min per question and if I take longer I'll guess and move on and review in the end but Idk.

my MCQ speed is slow in practice as well, because I get too distracted : /
1st round of MCQs took the longest, like 30-40 mcqs per day due to stopping and taking notes/finding answers. 2nd round of MCQs is a little faster, but best thing to do is keep learning from each question, this is why doing them by same topic is greatly helpful.

Yeah I forgot to mention that part of the reason I'm going so slow on the mcq is because I take notes for each one I get wrong. I could easily improve my speed on these and get more done but taking notes helps me learn…

2 weeks is enough time. I wouldn't limit the time you spend on each question, just keep plugging through. The reason why you do them in sections is after you do one and miss it, you'll get a similar question and you could work your way through it, then again then again. Eventually you start to understand.

Absolutely agree with @Turo, especially how you some of these questions literally help you connect the dots. Best of luck on your exam~
