NINJA Question –
I’m taking FAR on Monday and decided to procrastinate and estimate my score instead of actually pounding MCQs. I went through the “NINJA MCQ vs. Exam score” thread and gathered a bit of data. Not enough to make a super reliable sample, but enough of one to get the job done for now. I ran the regression on 40 samples as: Actual Score = Total Attempts + Avg. Score + Avg. Trending Score. The Multiple R came out at .4911, the R square at .2412, Adjusted R Square at 1.78 and Standard Error at 4.977. Anyway, here are the coefficients if you’d like to throw your results in.
Intercept: 50.75930114
Total Attempts .000286527
Avg. Score: .430841597
Avg. Trending Score: .00069581
Note: This is a poor sample, and was mostly gathered from happy posters. Only 15% of the sample had failing scores.
I’m sure Jeff has run real data on this but it was just something I thought would be interesting to try. I’m currently aiming for Projected – Std. Error = 75 in my NINJA MCQ efforts. It was super interesting that the base score should be ~51, and that average score carries the most weight. Let me know if you have any questions!
