NINJA Question –

I’m thinking about getting NINJA notes for Audit as (so far) I’m not satisfied with the Yaeger lectures for this section. For FAR they said only to focus on what they talk about, and went into great detail on the items. For Audit however, so much of the material is skipped…almost like he’s just reading the heading of most of the sections with no detail discussed really. Then when going over the MCQ’s (that he recommends and does in the lectures) it’s obvious most of the answers come from the detail he has not discussed. It’s like I need to take notes on every single item or very few items…neither of which I think would be very efficient or effective.

That said, I’m thinking about supplementing with NINJA Notes. But do they follow the text if I were to start with the Wiley module and lectures, then supplement by writing/re-writing NINJA Notes that apply to that module?

Any thoughts or insight greatly appreciated!

They don't follow the order. I just took aud and used ninja notes, as I recall without looking, professional responsibilities was the last or second to last section and it's one of the first sections in the wiley book. But good thing is you can skip to the section, they're broken down in the same way (engagement planning, professional responsibilities, internal control, etc)

Thanks. I guess the order wouldn't be as important as if they're broken down similarly. I actually saw the table of contents in the demo after I posted this. Looks like the sections are the same except the text has a module for Accounting and Review Services that Notes does not have, and Notes has a section for International Auditing that the text does not have.

I'd assume it all comes out in the wash though?

Regarding Accounting and Review Services, that will just be covered in the reports section in the ninja notes. International auditing in the ninja notes is sort of covered just throughout the wiley book, but mostly probably in engagement planning and reports in the wiley book but it's not a huge portion like it is in the FAR exam. Just knowing the basics would be good which the ninja notes cover.
