    NINJA Question –

Just curious the thoughts on CPA Excel, ninja notes and the ninja plus for REG. I also have the WTB for MCQs.

First I have the next three weeks to focus on FAR retake that I came up 2 points short on last week, but then I am jumping right into REG for about 5 weeks. I also want to point out that I have not studied for REG yet, and I haven’t worked in tax in over 3 years.

Any advice is appreciated for tackling REG!

I passed REG earlier this year using Wiley CPA excel book and Ninja MCQs. For REG there's wide range of seemingly unrelated topics that they can test you on – some SEC regs, contracts, bankruptcy, negotiable instruments in addition to all the tax topics. I studied everything but towards the end I focused heavily on individual, corporate and partnership taxation. I also watched a lot of youtube videos on some of more complicated taxation and contract areas. Roger is good at explaining contacts and negotiable instruments and Farhat is extremely helpful in demystifying corporate and partnership taxation. Here are the channels:

You also need to be proficient in researching the tax code, here it is:

I didn't take any tax classes, but I felt very prepared going through CPAexcel's course. On the second attempt I added the notes and the MCQs.
