    NINJA Question –

    Hey all,

I’m officially getting started with this brutal process by taking FAR at the end of April. I’ve lurked for awhile and have got wind of the NINJA method and how it works pretty well with just about any course.

Since I’m using the RogerCPA review course, I just wanted some clarification on how the NINJA method works. From what I understand the method includes watching the videos, then taking notes, then doing an infinite amount of MCQs, re-writing notes, and putting it all together. What I’m getting confused about is the watching videos/taking notes. I’m not certain if the NINJA method calls for taking notes while watching videos or watching the videos first, THEN taking notes.

Also, I’ll be using the Roger 6-month study planner, so I’m wondering if it would be best to watch videos for each section (usually it’s three to four per day), then take my notes and do MCQs?

Sorry for the totally rook questions

    Thanks!

I used Roger lectures and took minimal notes as I read along in the book. After all lectures were finished, I hammered Ninja MCQs for about three weeks each for BEC, AUD and REG. I passed all three on the first attempt, but my scores probably would have been higher if I had taken more notes. FAR has taken a lot more effort, mostly re-reading and more note-taking, and a lot more MCQ/SIM practice.

I think you need to figure out whatever method works best for you because everyone's study habits are so different. I'm using Roger as well and I take notes as I go through each lecture, then do practice MCQs and take notes on the ones I miss.
