    NINJA Question –

Last night I completed the adaptive learning section by getting every question correct at least once. This moved my trending score to 100% but I know I’m not going to get 100% on the exam. I am now focusing on sims and trouble questions. I noticed the scores on the sims do not affect the trending score but that the trouble questions were slowly lowering it. Will doing this get me closer to what I can actually expect on the exam? I am worried that the trending score is now skewed. Exam is Monday, my first time sitting and I am extremely nervous. Below is a link to a screenshot to see what I mean:

The trending score is going to be skewed because of the number of times you've done each question. You've memorized some of them, but that could be good if you are memorizing the explanations too. I think looking at the scores is good while you are learning, but this close to the exam you know which topics are your weak areas. Keep using that “troubled questions” feature in NInja. Don't let the scores demotivate you or make you lose confidence in your ability to pass this exam. I like to read a section of notes and take a quiz on the section then read another section of notes and take a quiz on that section, repeating until I get through all the sections as a final review of the material. It sounds like you are right where you are supposed to be. My big advice for AUD is to RTMFQ and RATHMFA and be sure you search the AL for every SIM, not just the research ones.

Also, if you look at the “progress report” it'll show your actual scores for each section, as opposed to a trending average.

I'll echo what others are saying about the “trouble questions” feature – it's great! For my FAR retake, I was trending in the 90s by the end of my review because I had gone through every question until I got it right at least once. After that point, I went back through the CSOs, expanded the list by subtopic, and focused on those sections where my trending and overall average was the lowest. Good luck!

    Hey All and CPAMommyof3,

What and where is the “troubled question” feature in the Ninja MCQ?

    Also, what is meant by:

“My big advice for AUD is to RTMFQ and RATHMFA and be sure you search the AL for every SIM, not just the research ones. “?

I am half way through the adaptive learning portion and my exam is next Tuesday. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

“My big advice for AUD is to RTMFQ and RATHMFA and be sure you search the AL for every SIM, not just the research ones.” = Read the MF Question and Read All the MF Answers! 🙂 AUD is tricky because of the way the questions are worded. Reading the questions too fast will hurt you and reading one answer that is right can hurt you because there could be another answer that is MORE right. As for the SIMS–If you're lucky (I was) you can find some answers for AUD SIMS word for word by searching in the AL on the exam. Use the search and search within features. That's why it is a good idea to leave 2 hours for SIMS and try to answer what you can then go back to each SIM you are unsure of and search the AL using as many different search terms, phrases as possible. Even if you don't find the answers word for word you can still find stuff to help you answer the questions.

    Average score = 65%

    Average trending Score = 74.5%

    What does this mean?

    (my exam is tomorrow morning)

    FAR-65,69,80 EXP,73, 80
    AUD-61,65,84 EXP, 73,78 DONE......
    REG-73 So close, 64, 81
    BEC-69, 70, 69, 77

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF STUDYING

Thank you CPAMommyof3 for the great advice.

I have been reading every correct and incorrect answer along with the links below the answers. I have not started the SIMS yet as I am still working on the adaptive learning section. Should I start the SIMS now or wait until I reach the review section?

Thank you for the advice. Right now I have been working on some sims and more mcq today. Average score is 77 and trending is 95. Is it safe to say that at this point I can pretty much ignore these and just focus on my weak spots?

@Portia–I am starting SIMS this weekend after my scores on the MCQ are all up to 90-100% (trending) and my test is next Saturday. With FAR I found that it was good to have an idea of what SIMS could look like so I did them all at least once, but they were really easy in comparison to the real SIMS. The trick with SIMS is that they can be relatively easy if you know your concepts, JEs, calculations, etc. which you learn by doing the MCQ.

    @mscav76
–Yes. I think you can stop worrying about the scores because at this point you know what you need to work on. Work on those problem areas (while still keeping the other areas fresh) and just focus on getting better at the areas you know are weak. Do not go into the test thinking “Oh I probably won't get tested on that so I won't focus on it.” I did that for FAR and my first MCQ and one SIM was on my worst topic that I pushed aside. Yes I still passed, but it killed my confidence a little to see that very first question on that topic and I had no idea how to answer it.
