    NINJA Question –

    Hello Jeff and fellow candidates,

I am currently studying for the beast known as FAR. I have decided to take the approach of doing ALL of the Ninja MCQ’s in their order of category when presented by Customized Session. e.g. starting with A:1:1: Conceptual Framework – SEC Standards and going through each question, taking notes, and moving on to A:1:2 Conceptual Framework – FASB, etc.

Would you consider this to be a good approach or overkill? I am also supplementing with a 2012 Becker book for an initial note taking outline as well as a Wiley 2013 book for additional MCQ’s. I’m a firm believer in MCQ’s, MCQ’s and more MCQ’s. Upon completion I should have a very solid outline of notes (after combining all three sources) in which to re-write prior to the exam – Oppa NINJA style.

I realize that this approach will probably will negate any “adaptive learning” within the Ninja MCQ. However, after I finish all of the MCQ’s will it be possible to reset my progress and start from the beginning with doing an assessment of all areas by selecting all sections?

Please let me know your thoughts.

I took that approach for REG (test in two days) and got through every multiple choice at least once. After going through each section one time using the “New Question” option I went through every question again using the “Missed last time” option until I answered every MCQ correct. I took notes in my initial pass through and have been rereading explanations as I got them wrong after that. I can't tell you if it works yet because I haven't taken the exam, but I do know that you can't reset your scores. What you do from the start will be a part of your average score throughout your studying. I think it's a good way to go. I've been in the test bank for 90 hours since starting to study 7 weeks ago. I feel like I should have read through my notes more so I'm going to focus on that over the next two days. Good luck!

I didn't do this for the other 3 exams, but I think i'm going to take this approach with FAR. Just do Ninja MCQ's. It's taking too long to get thru the FAR material and i'm losing focus. It doesn't help this is my last exam and I'm ready to be DONE.

CPAmommy – did you use the ninja MCQ's for FAR?

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!

No–I used WTB. Ninja wasn't out yet when I started studying for FAR. I think it came out two weeks before my test date and I was not adding any new material at that point.

Thanks tcincy! The forum has been so helpful to me and I can only hope I've paid that back to others. I wish I had known about this forum BEFORE I started testing. It would have saved me a bunch of headaches and misunderstandings about the process. I do work, full time in industry as an accounting manager (AKA Assistant Controller, which will be my new title when I'm done with this). Good luck to you too!!

To those that are using Ninja MCQ –

I am familiar with Wiley test bank, but not Ninja.

Wiley groups the MCQ's by topic and you can choose which topic you want to do questions on and how many questions at one time.

    Does Ninja MCQ do that?

Also, does it give you an option to either see the answer after each question, or wait till you've answered an entire set of questions before seeing what you got correct?

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

It does allow you to question by topic and in sets of ten up to 50, then 75, 100, etc. I don't think it has the option to hide the explanations after the questions, but the explanations are better than Wiley in my opinion. You can also click “?” on a question that you are guessing on and want counted wrong even if you get it right, so it will still show up in your “missed last time seen” selections. I used Wiley for AUD and FAR and I'm using Ninja for REG. I like Ninja better simply for the explanations.

    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!
