Test Banks: Gleim Or Wiley+Ninja?

About to start studying for AUD. Test Bank will be the biggest part of my studying strategy. Hesitant which one to choose.
    – Heard good reviews for Gleim TB, never used it though as its rather pricey.
    – Familiar with Wiley and Ninja. Used both (more Wiley than Ninja) to study for FAR, REG and BEC. Liked the format of Wiley TB ,good explanations, but MCQ seem too easy. Ninja is more difficult but dont like how questions are explained, would not use it as the only TB, only as a supplement.

Price difference would be around $50 in favor of Wiley and Ninja. But as you can see by my scores they were just barely good for me to pass.
I hope there are people who used all three TB and can share their opinion. Or at least those who used Gleim TB and felt it prepared them very well.

I only used Gleim for my REG retake, but I feel it was the reason I passed. They have the best sims and with them being weighted 50/50 now, I think it's important to have good ones to practice. I can't speak for other sections, but the REG mcq's were much harder than the exam.

If you're on the fence, you can do the 2 week trial to Wiley and that should give you enough time to run through the whole test bank and sims.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

Gleim is no joke of a test bank. I recently failed FAR with a 74 and bought the premium edition for my retake for FAR and it's absolute a killer. MCQ are a LOT more detailed and complex compared to Ninja and to the actual exam.

will third the “gleim is a killer”- I bought it for my third FAR retake- I am currently waiting on scores so don't know if it paid off or not but Gleim is really really detailed and complex which helped me nail down / fill in a lot of my gaps in FAR (OMG that wasn't even suppose to be a pun but is kind of funny)- but anyway I don't think you can go wrong with Gleim

that being said- I only used Ninja for my AUD exam and thought those questions mirrored my actual exam REALLY WELL…. the trickiest thing I found with AUD was that several answers can be right you just have to know which one is “more right” than the others. IMO Ninja did a really good job teaching me to read the questions and discern what was being asked…

    Good Luck whatever you decide-

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

AUD – Only used Gleim and passed whenever I started back up for my fourth attempt. I had a two year break between my third and fourth attempt btw, so I have faith that Gleim will get you there. I wasn't hip on Ninja then.

REG – Absolute hell with Gleim, super overwhelming. Way too many questions and they are long. Lots of EA questions too. Could be a good thing or bad thing, depending on the person. I used Gleim only for my 1st and 2nd attempt, and halfed it with Ninja for my 3rd and 4th attempt. I would recommend Ninja.

I wouldn't really see anything wrong with the Wiley/Ninja combo. Wiley questions are probably as long as Gleim questions, but you get 1000 less questions than Gleim. You would also be saving $100.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

I've used the test banks for gleim and ninja, passed Both Audit and FAR in the mid 80's (after getting 74's) currently waiting for BEC scores.

And yea I agree with everyone here gleim can be overwhelming at times, but if you're in the 70's and rock the gleim multiple choice questions for(minimum of 75 in every section) you'll know it on another level.

I've used gleim for everything except BEC so far. Their test bank is definitely killer. Master that and you will master the exam

Gleim is totally comprehensive and detailed. Some people find this to be a negative, but I think it's a positive. Since one never knows what will be on the exam, the “safest” way to go is to know all the topics inside and out. Assuming you have the drive/time to master Gleim, you'll pass for sure.

thanks all for your valuable input! I think Im sold on Gleim's being very detailed and comprehensive. I will basically learn Audit from scratch, so I need the test bank to be almost like a text book.

I believe Gleim applies some sort of discount if you click the Gleim link here – it's 10% off courses … not sure if their TB gets the deal as well: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/2017-cpa-review-discounts-coupon-promo-codes/
